I also have friends who live in the Lake Lure area. They also say that when they say they are "going into town" they mean Asheville, Hendersonville and Rutherfordton. Some might mean Chimney Rock but usually a bigger city.

Just to clarify I never argued that. I just stated Lake Lure is actually a town where someone before said it was not.

As I mentioned earlier, I grew up not far from this area (the county I grew up in is in the disaster declaration), so we still have a lot of friends there. One point/fact that folks in that area are noting is that "electric vehicles are worthless" right now. Asheville leans pretty left and the adoption of EV's was high there.

This is true, but to be fair ICE vehicles are also useless for many people if you have to drive an hour and wait 2 hours line to get gas.

JUST IN - Greene County now has three operational emergency pumps capable of moving approximately 7 million gallons of water per day. The water reservoir has reached a sufficient level to begin supplying water to the towers, and officials are hopeful for positive updates on the situation within the next 24-48 hours.

However, due to damage to water transmission lines across the river, some customers in the Chucky and Glinn Hills utility districts may not receive service immediately once water returns. Crews are working to activate a temporary line beneath the river to restore service to all customers. A boil water advisory will be in effect once the water is restored.

Also: I know everyone is trying to help… …but we need exact needs and addresses not anything else. It takes a bit extra time sifting through texts, emails, and DM’s of “possible” things to check. Also I have about a 5 hour window at this point to be able to get supplies that are dwindling the closer you get. Lastly, you guys fricking rock, I love you, and you are the best of Twitter. Can’t tell you how much everyone really is pitching in. -E

Personal opinions and emotions are considered facts to people in this country now. It’s why society is crumbling.

Yes. We just got setup in Waycross GA.

Destination Church
201 Jenkins Street
Waycross GA31501

We are setup next to their food bank.

Tonight is cold cut hoagies and chips

Starting tomorrow lunch we will be back on hot meals. We do sandwiches on our first dinner due to not having time after traveling and getting setup.

Is there a reason he only mentions North Carolina? And he thinks (or his handlers think) Raleigh is a good close place to the problems?

What will / hS VP Harris promised to Georgia?

You can stockpile gas. Much harder to stockpile electricity or at least in the quantities need to charge up a EV......
