Sounds like it’s moving north pretty fast through the App Mtns and veering to the west. I’d say chances are really low.

I’m in the Raleigh area, and we’ve gotten a lot of rain over the last few weeks. If this came our way, with wind, many trees would've been uprooted due to the saturated ground. Hope that’s not the case for our friends in the mountains. Stay safe!

Western N.C. is getting absolutely fricked right now. Will easily be the worst flood in living memory

Mountains and torrential rain is really not a good combination

Live in Dublin GA. Caught the eye wall when it came over at 4 this morning. Was still a Cat I-II. So far 2 fatalities in my county. Trees on houses and cars. Soil was wet because we got 6 inches of rain yesterday before the storm even hit. Went out and looked up and down the street with a floodlight about 5 a.m. Multiple trees across road both ways. Sun's about to come up. Gotta feeling it's gonna be bad when it does and we can see the extent of the damage. We're alive and God's Great.

Looks like it’s moving more eastward, going in dry on the Carolinas…..lucky for them it downgraded to a TS.

Atlanta with the big sigh of relief.

I guess it never wrapped around that low to move more north yet like they expected.

Yeah not sure why I’m being downvoted. They’re saying it will be close to the historic 1916 flood where the French Broad was something like 17 feet above flood stage.

The mountains are not a place to be in a storm like this with the topography

Out of power here since 1am. Savannah definitely got hit harder than anticipated. Whole city basically out of power

I had to cancel my weekend trip to nyc. Couldn't leave my parents with my kids without power for the whole weekend. Would have been a nice getaway from storm aftermath though

I live in this path that is currently being fricked. I left town on Wednesday and will return on Sunday. Talk about perfect timing

GFS has another one taking the same path in 12 days

a model forecast 5 days out isn't always accurate let alone 12 days.

Seems like a pretty significant modelling miss once inland. The models were pretty tight on path and close on landfall.

Yeah this was a big miss, just two days ago they had this riding up north along the Alabama/Georgia border, but this all the way over in South Carolina. Even Wilmington and Myrtle beach are being hit with tornadoes.

Yeah it passed about 50 miles east of us. Went over the Western side of Lake Oconee.

Sigh of relief here. Never lost power and we are all safe.

Tons of rain here in Atlanta but wind was pretty light, should clear out by 10 AM.

We definitely dodged a bullet.

Not complaining

We are in Williamson, about 80 miles east of the Bama line. I'm glad that bitch shifted 120 miles east.
