East Tennessee anywhere between Knoxville and Tri-Cities. Beautiful, lush green mountains, temperate climate, no income tax, and they speak the same language.

I should probably leave because I also have the unpopular opinion that Urban Meyer’s Utah team was BCS worthy, perhaps even the best team in the land. So, apparently, I’m safe somewhere in Utah.

Salt Lake City is amazing. The Utes are very good and play some great football and cool opponents. Is it SEC atmosphere? Nope, but it’s still a good game day. The bonus is that they love their Sugar Bowl Champ team and they have that memorabilia everywhere. They hated Alabama almost as much as me.

The Mountain time zone is the best for college football. You get to watch all the games without having to get up early or stay up till midnight.

It does get hot there, but it’s extremely dry. So, the heat isn’t as bad and neither is the cold. People are nice. Food is good. Economy is amazing.

Monterey/Carmel for us. We leave LA in April come back October. Heaven on earth there.

This is spot on. Been sheer misery having to be back in the deep South after 2 years of never sweating.

How much do you like the cold? You can’t have one without the other.

Much of the PNW doesn't have a lot of either extreme.

Yep, even the panhandle of Idaho is temperate, but mild.

The Willamette Valley of Oregon is a great climate for people who dislike extremes. It can get hot but it doesn't often.

Coastal Oregon is gonna blow up soon as well. Its underrated.

A great thing about living in the Pacific Northwest is the insane amount of variability that exists in terms of places to live. It ranges from temperate rain-forests to coastal estuaries, to desert to grassland and everything in between.

I’d much rather have a mild, cooler climate, and can tolerate the rain, rather than the ever present swamp arse weather of SE Louisiana.

Kinda what we have. A little cooler than Seattle or Vancouver. Temperate, but mild with light rain/snow or clouds 2/3rds of the time. Maritime influence is strong.

I personally have far more tolerance for cooler weather. 20-40 degrees bothers me a lot less than 96 with 70% humidity

Flagstaff is the move

I did a week of work there and took my wife in the middle of July. Great weather.

The guy I was working with was from Texas and I asked how he ended up there and he said he was a trucker and kept driving through there over the years and noticed it was always perfect weather and just decided to move there until he found the job he loved.

My wife hates cold and I hate heat. Central Texas gives us both 3 months we absolutely hate, 6 months we love, and 4 where we tolerate a bit in between.

Thats our winters. Rarely fall into the teens or single digits.

Same with us. My wife wouldn't want to live in a very cold climate. I'd live in Maine.

Our weather in South LA is pretty tolerable 7 months of the year to me and pretty miserable the other 5.

Don’t talk about it be about it. Damn are people so soft these days.

Personally I enjoy wearing flip flops on Christmas and not shoveling snow for 4 months out of the year. Love it or leave it.

Flagstaff seems like a really nice place.

Billings is also a nice town, and their winters are more mild than western Montana. Some really good breweries in town as well, but no major college sports. There is a minor league baseball team in the Pioneer League.

Technology has solved that little problem. I haven't shoveled in years. Snowblower does the job in minutes.

Huh? Where do you live? It's really weird not to shovel your driveway, and you're required to clear your sidewalk.

Awesome town.

Takes a type to live out of an RV though. We took a big one from Vegas to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl a few years ago and we were ready to be out of it after 3 nights. Even hired a driver.
