Well.. Its always a good idea to look into something before you give. The point of giving is to help people in need so I would rather know that whatever I give would actually be used to help someone.
There are a lot of scammers out there, especially around this time of year.. So its not really a good idea to just give to anyone you run into that tells you a story then ask for money... And just hope that it us used for good.

I don’t really like people telling me what I should or shouldn’t do with the money I earn
If I blow $25 on a GFM, a bottle of wine, my sixth espresso of the day, or a bum - what does it matter? It’s gone.

I can't argue with this. If people rather waste their money on scams than actually seeking things out instead of giving towards something that can actually help people it really shouldn't be anyone's business.
