people are so unforgiving.. but if anything.. it's situations like this that further go to show: people are human and need God.. even those that are believers
perhaps, even with what he has been involved with.. he still has a testimony to tell. i don't know what his message will be. i can see how someone can view it as hypocritical, but i don't know the repentance of his heart. That is for God to decide. I don't know that he should be leading a seminar titled "real men 2015" though given his past.. and I don't know that he should be in a position of leading any more.. but I do hope he is sincere and doing well. I don't think he should be constantly shamed for his mistakes, but I don't know if he should be in a position to lead..

I'd like to hear what he has to say about infidelity. If he used his own personal struggle (and what it was like) as a teaching experience, then that could be a powerful message.
I would much rather hear somebody give me advice using their own mishap as an example of why not to do something, than to hear somebody give me advice preaching from his high horse.

The problem is, this isn't just a layperson (pardon the expression) telling about his struggles. This is someone who stole from the congregation (yes, having an affair with a church staff member involved stealing in numerous ways), betrayed his leadership position, and claimed to be something he isn't. The Bible is replete with forgiveness and God used all manner of frick-ups throughout. But it is also clear that the most justifiably reviled and divinely judged actors in the Bible are those who seek personal gain (both monetary and reputation) through the church
Read Acts 5 about Ananias and Sapphira. They claimed to have made a bigger personal sacrifice than they actually did and dropped dead for it.
There is a categorical difference between forgiving someone and imprudently allowing someone who has betrayed his leadership position to lead in this way. I hold no personal animosity towards the man whatsoever. But as a Christian, and a member of the little-,"c" church it would be a dereliction of duty to just turn a blind eye to this.
And it's $50. FIFTY DOLLARS to attend this crap. If this is really good news that "real men" need to hear, then why is this "ministry" charging $50 to hear it? Nowhere on the site does it say where the money goes. I looked.
Okay, off to deal with the plank in my own eye. But Christianity isn't just some personal belief system where you battle it out alone, with God and demons. So I am going to continue calling out this bullshite when I see it, in a humble spirit.

I have much more issue with the fact that he preaches prosperity doctrine and lives a lavish lifestyle. Both of these are the antithesis of Christ's teaching. The adultery, in my mind, just further proves his message is empty.

yeah i'm an outsider but i was raised in the church (mixture of catholic and protestant even) and understand Christianity from a moral and historical standpoint. living lavishly is literally the antithesis of what Jesus taught. i also believe that Christianity is a very internal and pensive religion and the new age (stolen from pentecostals and black baptist churches, mind you) style of churches literally strip any individual comprehension from the church. they just pump you up and get your energy level high and then preach prosperity gospel to seek an audience of confirmation bias. it's just manipulative, which is, again, the antithesis of finding Jesus/God

i agree with everything you said. My best friend growing up was forced to attend Jimmy Swaggarts school. Poor guy.
I tell you one thing though. That fella over there in Central,at Journey Church. I heard his story the other day and know how he lives. Seems like a real cool guy. He for years was the custodian of the church and still doesn't mind getting his hands dirty cleaning the parking lot,taking out the trash,ETC.
The book is still open on him though because he's got a relatively new semi-mega church but right now i think he's doing things right.
And i do not go to his church.
That's him on the left.
