Looking to order tonight, don't know shite about them and was hoping for some pointers on things to buy or not buy.

Not looking to pay hundreds of bucks, I'm not refined enough to deserve that kind of experience. Just not sure if the lower priced stuff is all shite though.

Want the over the ear kind, studio or padded. Whatever they are called.

Sony makes a strong pair of over the ear bluetooth headphones for about $150.

Depends on what look you're seeking.

1. I'm a professional who also enjoys music.
2. I loudly rap to myself as I walk down the street to my job at Burger King.

My goal is not to hear other people or have them talk to me. While listening to music.

I would probably closer resemble number 1, but only because I don't want to give everyone a glimpse until I release my mixtape.

Go to best buy and have a listen.

There is a classic studio set they have for maybe 80 bucks that are awesome.

I have a set of klipsche eat buds that were 120ish that I love.

I have some decent ear buds that I like. Just wanted the over the ear ones for travel and such.

Noise cancelling a big deal? Worth it I assume.

Cant speak to other brands. Own a pair of Bose qc35 which are very good at noise canceling and good audio quality for music. Wireless as well.

Skull candy crusher over the ear headphones are great. Run about $120 or so.

I got a pair of on ear JBL headphones with noise cancellation several months ago. Love em.

JBLTUNE600BTNC they were around $100 on Amazon and sound great. Noise cancellation works great especially on flights.

First, there is a difference between on-ear and over-ear but unless you want noise-canceling on-ear is more common. For less than $100 there are a ton of options BUT one recommendation that is easy to make is the Grado SR60e for about $80. For the price they are excellent and Grado has been making cans forever. They are well made and will last a lifetime if not abused. I have several pairs of far more expensive cans but I still have a pair of SR60 that are probably 20 years old and still are a pleasure to wear, the ear foam has been replaced a couple of times but ther than that never touched.

Grado - any model. Very efficient and a lot of detail at low levels. Open air. Made in Brooklyn, NY

Audio Technica ATH50 any model there's also a bluetooth version. Made in Taiwan sealed design and durable

Audio technica ATH-A900X excellent sound quality. Made in Japan. Sealed design and funky head band but comfortable.

Beyer Dynamic DT 990 DT 880 and DT 770. Made in Germany and outstanding sound. Some are sealed and other open air. Available in 32 ohm version.

The Grados are great, but they are open backed, which means some of your music leaks out the back and you can hear some background noise. Best bang for your buck are these Sonys:

Bluetooth and rechargable. These sound great. I love them. Great on planes too.

I bought a pair of these about a year ago, super high quality sound. No usb, these have 1/8 inch stereo plugs with a 1/4 inch adapter.

If looking for over the ear, the Jabra Elite 85h (noise canceling) are incredible. Long battery life and if you have to take a call, blocks out noise to caller on other end much more so than Sony or Bose equivalent. Plus, they sound great.

Jabra also just released the in-ear Elite 75t. Not noise canceling, but much smaller and comparable to AirPods Pro (Pro have noise canceling but are slightly more expensive).

As one who travels frequently, I like the AirPods Pro. Much easier to tote around and does an incredible job of blocking out noise on a plane.
