Why didn't I think of that.

Why are you rolling your eyes at that comment? Do you think the OT is a better place for this crap over the travel board?

Slapping Harry Knowles would be the first thing I'd do.

Not at all. I just think they would have difference of opinion (age, intresst etc.)

So how's about you provide a little bit more info in the OP about the age, interest, etc... so people can provide useful comments. Or heaven for bid you utilize the search function rather then post the same boring topic that gets posted every other day.

But I have a feeling you aren't really interested in peoples advice and would rather just brag about the trip you have planned so go ahead and post the same topic with 0 information on multiple boards.

Salt Lick has been on my list. Lulling Tx has several great BBQ places as well.

frick that bullshite. Here's your job, Dad!!! Keep your boy out of strip clubs and off of 6th street, so he looks presentable.

What's you and the wife's plan if your boy brings a sloot back to the room?

Freedman's is friggin lit. Go to one of the springs surrounding the city. They're beautiful and totally part of the Austin experience. Depending on how old you are, 6th street can be a lot of fun. My number one recommendation is to check out Rainey Street. Very cool and unique bar atmosphere that doesn't seem like itd be as close as it is to downtown.

Go to the Domain. It will be a nice mix of ages for all of you to fit in. The place has everything you are looking for.

Yeah, I know reading some threads here and shaggy, people recommended places like John Mueller Meat Co and La Barbacue.

FWIW, my girlfriend and I visited Austin back in April. The lines at Franklin and LA Barbeque were insane, but we were able to order immediately at John Mueller and the brisket was fantastic.
