Dude Atleast give a day or three before calling them. Take your flomax and drink plenty of fluids. You'll still have discomfort even after the stent is removed just from irritation so you might as well tough it out

I heard the stents were uncomfortable. I highly doubt they will take them out for you tomorrow. You are probably stuck with them for a few days. Drink lots of water and take the pain meds. Also, take some stool softeners and miralax for a few days if you are taking narcotic pain meds. Did you get the Torodol?

I would not expect them to remove the stent the day after you got it. If it really hurts a lot, you should call though, as I don't remember any major pain after it was in. They may be able to give you some minor pain meds or something like that. I would suspect that the pain is just from the inside of your junk being all raw from the procedure.

Try to catch Coater on the board and ask him whatever questions you have...he is very knowledgeable...

Every time I use the bathroom, it feels like somebody has hit me in the kidneys. Trying to find a position to lay or sit in and can't get comfortable. They gave me pain medicine and it helps a little but there is still a ton of discomfort. It just really sucks.

Not sure if its bladder spasms. My bladder spasms felt like my side was in a vice grip that got tighter as I peed. As I drank water and my bladder got full the spasms calmed down, but then it was time to go pee again. This cycle went on for hours before I decided to take a pain pill.

They gave me Ditropan for the bladder spasms and Pyridium for painful urination.

they make some over-the-counter stuff for urinary tract pain that will get rid of the bladder spasms. it is basically just some heavy duty food coloring and makes your piss dark orange, but it is available at any drug store and will get you by if you need something extra.

Usually you will have the stent for a week to 10 days. Have to let everything cool down. Good luck. It's surely better than the alternative.

I got to keep it in until Monday. The worst part about that is that the string on the end of it fell off

Trust me: you do not want the stent removed too soon.

This thing is protecting your ureter as you have no clue how many passes they had to make up and down your ureter with the ureteroscope let alone other instrumentation to extract the stone(s).

That is true. I think the pain and discomfort had me a little discouraged. The pain and discomfort is actually letting up some right now.

They got to go break up and get a 7mm stone that has been in my ureter since the end of January.

I'm going to drink another tall glass of water before bed in your honor, Dawg fan.

I have taken flomax and drunk an arse load of water everyday leading up to the ureteroscopy and that little son of a bitch wouldn't move for nothing.

The stent is still in place. The doc will just go in with a scope and graspers and pull it out. It takes 20 seconds and you will have instant relief after.

Uncomfortable like a mofo.

Had this done as well and it was a strange experience. Your junk is numb, so once they pull the scope out, you piss all the liquid they pumped in all over the place.

Also, I wasn't prepared for the first anesthesia-free pee the next morning. It was like pissing flaming razor blades. Not a great time.

C'mon man. When the words "I'm going to stick three feet of camera up your dick" come out of a man's mouth, you've got a choice to make: Do you punch that man square in the face or do you not punch that man square in the face? If the answer is "no, I'm not going to punch that man square in the face," the very next words out of your mouth had better be "I want an anesthesiologist".

I've had to go through that shite before. Waking up in the recovery area confused because your junk looks like an Oompa Loompa gave you a blowjob from all the Betadine they slathered on your crotch is WAY better than being awake while Torquemada goes spelunking to see what the inside of your urinary tract looks like. Propofol is a wonder drug.

Yeah I had one done.

It took a really really long time to do mine though, due to the length the scope had to travel.
