I live in a majority hispanic area now and it’s pretty nice. Very family oriented place.

My wife was assigned as a Team Leader for a group of new employees, and made the horrible mistake of saying in a meeting...
"Don't worry, we're not going to crack the whip on you guys, we know you're just getting started and we were all there once ourselves".

She was demoted to file reviewer, and turned in her 2 week notice yesterday (job in hand with my company).

So, moral of the story, don't say crack the whip if you like your job lol

The great Latino/African American wars of the next decade will be incredible.

The political tension is already simmering, they'll destroy each other.

HIspanics are the ones who will gain the most power over the next 10 years. By a lot.

Most AAs I know think Kanye did nothing wrong. The POC/LGBTQ+ tent is huge at this point, and a lot of said people don't like each other. Again, I treat everyone equally and respect everyone's beliefs, but it is hard to not see that tent crashing down in a couple of years.

I work for a Bay Area tech company. I deal with wokeness just about daily, even while working remotely.

What?

Newsflash. Hispanics don't like your people here in the US. They're stricken to live in the lower income areas because they just got to the country and their values don't align with your local peoples values.

They are all about family. They stick together and value family, work, and religion. They're good people to have around

Depends on the definition. Brother-in-law's new GF came to visit us last Thanksgiving, he called my wife and asked her if we could eat outside because GF didn't want to eat inside in a closed environment, also stated she would wear a mask and not to get too offended. He also asked my wife if I would move some of my guns from display (glass cabinet with most used guns) to my safe because she is not comfortable at the sight of guns. My wife was very persuasive in convincing me to set these things up , so I set everything up on the back patio including getting another patio heater for better coverage. I moved all the guns to the safe where they were out of view, and helped the wife do a deep clean of the common areas. All of this and the BIL shows up by himself to Thanksgiving. The girl flew in with him, but did not want to leave the hotel because having a meal with a southern white family was just too much, so she tried to get him to just leave with her, he declined (though he did bump his flight up). We were very distraught when he said he was coming in for Christmas and I told him it was going to be too damn cold for his eat outside BS for the younger and elder family members to which he said she had dumped him after they got back for going to Thanksgiving when she wasn't comfortable and making her feel like the bad guy.

"Crack the whip" gets you fired? Will remember.

I know someone that was banned from a company for using the word "Oriental" - and this was 10 years ago - which is 'highly offensive' now.

Oriental rugs, anyone?

Asian doesn't make sense as it covers China, South Korea, India...

But can't say "Oriental" apparently.

Had to deal with a they/them pronoun person before. Just used the first name to avoid the problem.

Worst are the videos teens make that haunt them forever.
