Whiffing is nothing. I was tee'd up on a par 4. Swung hard and hit nothing but ground. Caught so much ground that my club stopped about 6" from the ball. Driver was buried 2/3 lines deep. Having to back up and clean off the driver, and repair the divet BEFORE you even drive.......That's embarrassing.

Not only have I whiffed, but I recently hit my T-shot and swung so hard that I did a backward somersault. I thought myself and golfing partners were going to piss our pants we were laughing so hard, after we realized my old arse wasn't hurt.

wiffed a flop shot for eagle in a tournament in high school, then holed my next shot for birdie

I whiff every time I play. Apparently, I'm not that good at golf, but I'm pretty good at drinking on the golf course. Funny how that works.

CSB: A few Mrs. P's ago, there was one who was always bitching about me getting too inebriated. So she over heard a golf buddy talking about how I whiffed on a stroke and brought it up during one of her "come to Jesus" talks. I slurred back to her "You have no fricking clue how hard it is to hit a golf ball." It actually lasted like nine months after that if I remember correctly.

I started playing around 8 years ago, and can't recall whiffing a ball off the tee. I'm sure i did when i first started, but i can't recall doing it lately.
But then i got a new driver a month ago, went play a round, and whiffed twice. Pretty embarrassing. Terrible day of golf and i returned the driver, Jetspeed. It just never felt right.

I'm pretty good at golf and I have whiffed plenty of times when I was a beginner (and small child).

I played in a BREC league when I was in 8th grade and we usually had 3 or 4 tourneys during the summer. I was playing in one at Webb and was in one of the first groups to tee off. I had about 30 people watching me when I whiffed. I couldn't wait to get off that tee box. I ended up getting 2nd in my flight so I guess I redeemed myself.

Do you one better. Wife & I been dating about a year. Guys are playing & the girls driving the carts. Group of 8. Take my wedge & stick the green. I'm playing pretty well. Maybe even a lil cocky. Sank the 10-12 ft putt. Buddy's sink their putts & we are walking back to the carts. I'm talking smack, so all eyes on me. Pick up my wedge and attempted to chip the ball towards my golf cart. Well, I bladed the shite out of it & smoked my wife in the leg. It's been a tough cross to carry.
