No. When I was a kid if you could reach the beer in the cooler and place it on the counter to purchase, you were good.

I can remember a lot of people from my hs class of 96 going to to get fake id's from a shop in Houston that made pretty good ones except the back said for novelty use only.. I used one from 1996-2000. Made on a friend's pc with a Polaroid camera and laminating machine. Used it to buy liquor from mom and pop stores mostly in BR and on occasion to get into bars. It was so shitty I cant believe anyone would think it was real but it worked every time.

had one when I was 15 or 16. Worked great cause it was an actual La DL and the drinking age was 18 back then.

Yep. Paid $30 for one my freshman year of college and used it until I turned 21.

Fake ones today run around $500 according to my nephew that just graduated college. They order them from China I think he said.

Me and my freshman roommate used to use the same fake

He'd go in using it & get banded then walk out 15 min later to give to me so I could use it. I'm 5'9", he's well over 6' It didn't work every time but it worked enough

The Texaco on Florida near 110 would make "check cashing IDs" for $26.
All you had to have was a social security card to get one made. You wrote in your info. So yea me and some buddies had some made when we were 17. They'd never work at a bar by any stretch,
but we knew alot of the foreign-owned convenience stores accepted it as well as SuperFresh on Coursey(Quarters now). It worked well that Summer of 1993, until a big black dude working at Circle K on Perkins by Siegen almost beat my 17 yr old arse for trying to use it. I called him a bitch for taking it. Bad move.

But I turned 18 in 5 months.

"Well, see, that's kind of funny. Andy is married to my daughter, and his brother was over at our place last night for dinner. That wasn't you."

I turned ghost white and began to stutter. She laughed her arse off, made me put the liquor back, and let me keep the ID.

We had some dude's ID that was left at restaurant that got passed around. One night my friend was using it to get into a bar and the bouncer got pissed. Turns out he was friends with the guy on the ID and he had recently killed himself

I'll add that I only used mine at a bar a couple of times, and never at the state ABC store.

I used it at gas stations and convenience stores for beer, and a couple of shady package stores for liquor. Half the time those gas stations didn't even ask for an ID.

Me and some friends pooled our money together freshman year and all got fakes from IDChief, mine was a Kentucky ID with a Florida hologram and I used them until I turned 21.

Can't find one from Louisiana, but back in the 1970's your first license was a paper one without a picture. That would come in the mail 2-3 weeks after.

Anyway, a friend in high school somehow got his hand on plenty of blank ones. We would go to the mall to some department store, use the typewriters on display, and we were good for 90 days.

Sold some too to make extra money.

That said, in 1970's Baton Rouge, 98% of the places did not ID. And if one did, there were plenty of other options to go to.

Used to make shitty ones in high school. Remember going in on an order with friends in college, apparently the guy had stolen an ID printer from the Texas DMV and could make legit licenses but only from TX.

Didn’t need one at tucks. At the boot I’d just kick the door man an extra ten for a bracelet.

I did when I was in high school. I was born in 84. I was able to partially peel back the clear outer layer, and use a sewing needle to scratch the "4" on "1984" to look like a "1". Then I ironed the clear layer back down. It worked every time i tried using it.

In high school a friends dad had a super high resolution printer as he was an orthodontist. We scanned our ID’s and the photoshopped in the last 2 number in the year from his cousin’s ID making us 21.

We printed multiple sheets with multiple copies so that there was no problem when one eventually gets taken away.

On spring break one year a bouncer pulled one out of the front hole where your is goes and crumbled it up. I walked back to my room and put another in my wallet and went elsewhere.

Yes, my brother’s Drivers License taken when he was not home. He was almost 2 years older but it was close enough.

I used it to get into the adult movie theater, Gentilly Art Theater in 1968....IIRC... That was my first porn viewing and it was titillating to say the least.
