A friend of mine was telling me a story of a fight at a wedding years ago. Not a great story, drunk guys fought after the wedding was over, no wedding party involved.

But it made me think there has to be some good wedding fight stories out there. Booze and jealousy.

Is this common?

I had the unfortunate privilege to attend a wedding that was attended by both Chalmatians and the pride of Bridge City. As the reception was winding down, the inevitable flexing by both groups commenced.
One of the Chalmatians referred to one of the Bridge City krewe as "a f***ot in a country-bumpkin-arse baby-blue suit". Fists and chairs then flew, with several wives / girlfriends joining in.

My dad and I stood in the corner watching and drinking. Good times.

I was at a big wedding and the groom's side piece showed up to crash the party.

She put up a bit of a fight but I helped the groomsmen and we ejected her.

the groom's brother said if she ruined this day for his brother he would kill her, chop her into mulch and feed her to a dog. this was so hilariously specific that i never forgot it and still quote it to this day.

anyway she didn't come back and that was the end of it.

all in all it was a pretty damn good wedding.

Just a verbal altercation between ex-spouses that were parents of the groom. This was at the rehearsal dinner and both were very drunk. It got really uncomfortable and the groom was clearly mortified. His brother was able to get the dad out of there before it got uglier.

Dad did apologize to everyone, including the ex-wife after he cooled down.

Not really but came close at a friend's wedding. The brides ex (who she was totally over and couldn't stand) crashed the reception.

Luckily him and his posse left after some peacocking.

Yes, we knew the reception would be trashy. It's the reason we went. Dude got caught staring too long at some chick and that's all it took. The melee was on. There were bridesmaids hitting guys in the back of the head with champagne glasses. Busted out teeth. Real classy.

Needless to say, the marriage didn't last.

BTW- Not in Louisiana, Ohio actually.

Went to a wedding years ago where the best man (brother of the groom) got into a fight with the brides brother and the inlaws started swinging! Real shite! Some of south Louisiana's finest for sure!

This is hilarious. The girl is literally MARRYING another dude and you think it’s time to strut your stuff to try to show you’re better than the groom. Lol. Bro, you lost. What a douche monkey.

Not at the wedding, but two of my friends were high and drunk and had a push up contest after the wedding back in the hotel room before we went out to the bar next door. It came to fist to cuffs apparently due to them not agreeing on one of them doing a full push up

They both came down to the bar bruised and with ripped shirts.

I've been to tons of weddings, even some really trashy ones, but I've never seen a fight at one.

no but in our wedding my wife's (now ex) best friend who is an awesome cake maker person lol, charged us 500 dollars for a cake she basically bought for 75 dollars and slapped icing on it wasn't anything like we had paid for and my wife about lost it. On top of that, we paid 150 dollars for 100 or so cookies to hand out as guest started to show up to the wedding and she hid them and attempted to take them home, so she could take to work and give them away at her job. Luckily another bridesmaid let us in on the plot and found the cookies and we got them back but she legit had them hidding away saying she handed them all out. My wife was absoutely livid and to this day won't talk to her. NO one from the wedding talks to her anymore.
