Almost, I was hung over half passed out in the back of my car and my friend decided to take that long road in South Georgia that goes from Savvanah to civilization on what was nearly E

Yep...multiple times. The gauge doesn't work so I have to wing it every time I drive that vehicle.

Thrice. After the second, the wife told me good luck, you're on your own.

I've never ran out of gas. I've run out of gas a few times, though.

Northern nevada desert in may.
It was two 140 mile runs between stations. The station in the middle closed.
Ran out at 10 oclock 100 miles from anything.
Pulled a fuel pack off the roof rack, drumped six gallons in and took off.
Coasted into oregon. Where you can't pump your own damned gas! Had to wait it out until morning.

I on e timed it perfectly in N.O. East. Ran out of gas, shifted to neutral, coasted the Bullard exit, turned right, made a U turn, and coasted into the gas station. If there had been a car in front of me or I had to stop at the intersection, I'd likely have been murdered while pushing my car.

No. I have never RUN out of gas.

Also two other times I was 't so lucky. Once in high school in my 280ZX Turbo, which was one of the first talking cars that told you "fuel level is low." My dad was like, "How the hell do you run out of gas when your car tells you you're running out of gas?" He still talks about that 30 years later.
Other time I was using my dad's truck to go to UNO and ran out about a mile before the projects on Poland Ave. Someone saw me and picked me up. A mile later and I'd be dead.

Nope. I don't even look at the gas gauge. I know how much I put in and I know how many miles I get. Never trust any gauges

Once. Fuel sending unit on my jeep went bad. Gauge said I had over a quarter tank.

Have you ever ran out of gas?
Only once and it was about three years ago. Ran out one Saturday morning on the way to my son's little league baseball game. At that time my wife had a Nissan Quest minivan. We were driving down the road and it literally died. I had no idea what was wrong. We got it towed to the shop where they finally diagnosed the problem as a faulty fuel gauge. It showed having just under a quarter tank but it was actually bone dry.

On Lee Drive, practically across the street from the Circle K I was shooting for. But, the road sloped uphill, so I couldn't push the car in. Had to buy a portable tank to walk across the street.

2010 Chevy Silverado "mile to E" is NOT that spot on...as I found out the hard way!

frick yea
I drove a beater in college and the fuel guage didn't work so I ran out fairly often. Hard to calculate the mileage sometimes with gas prices fluctuating and me drinking and smoking.

I got really close once. Drove from hammond to prairieville on less than a fourth of a tank and this is a silverado that's 21 mpg.
Decided to push my luck and somehow I made it to the exxon on 73 by the interstate.
