Have you ever heard anyone actually say "baw"?

I had a buddy from Gonzales who said it. This was like 4 years ago and it wasn't his natural accent though. I did hear a song the other day named "Bayou Boys" and the singer pronounces it baws a few times.

Sure...you hear it a pretty good bit in most of the more rural areas of the south.

Its common south of Lafayette. Go to New Iberia, Abbeville, St Martinville, or Maurice and you'll hear it plenty.
