I’ve hunted all over N America and have been to some super sketchy looking bars. Never had a single issue and most everyone people has been friendly and/or curious about Louisiana.

I moved around a lot as a young lad. Being from Louisiana was the best ice breaker you could ask for.

Hell, I lived on the east coast when Waterboy came out and I was in 8th grade.

I had a lot of explaining to do.

The strange thing about Tennessee coming from Louisiana is how everyone up here identifies with what county they grew up in

I haven't read the entire thread, but if Grand Isle hasn't been mentioned a half dozen times, it should've been.

St. Francisville

Pretty but very unfriendly little town. Even the little tourist trap stores connected to the old plantations are quick to let you know you should spend some money and GTFO. Strange, also very unfriendly to people from other very nearby little towns. People from New Roads right across the Miss. River bridge hate to go there.

The community I grew up in was very unwelcoming unless you were related to one of the 2 ruling families by blood or marriage

Denham Springs and Pierre Part, for the same reason. Guys there do not like outsiders talking to their women.

Denham has changed so much h in the past 15 years, I really can’t imagine that they know or care who is local or not.

I went into a Juicy Seafood, did not feel welcome. It didn't take long to figure out it was not my kind of people.

That or walking drunkenly into a isis meeting in Celle Germany.

Can confirm small towns in Idaho don't like outsiders

The west is a lot worse than the South or Northeast for small xenophobic towns. Idaho, Utah, Eastern Oregon/Washington . . .

You can have an appearance/demeanor that elicits no worry from anyone anywhere else in the country but in many of those towns, the locals will stare at you like you just beamed down from a Star Trek spaceship while local cops ask you what you're doing there. . .

It's like a lot watch too many westerns and think any outsider is there to rustle their cows and womenfolk.
