Does trashing my a-hole pledge trainer's room in the fraternity house count? I tossed trash everywhere, made a tower of his couch pillows with cups of stale beer balanced on every corner, poured his dip cup on his bed. Whole pledge class caught hell of course. Definitely never fessed up to that one.

I’ve bragged about all of my epic situations too much already.

I’ve observed a couple of supernatural type events including one from a close friend that has Medium or Psychic abilities that I haven’t told anyone about. That’s due to how crazy it would make me or the Medium appear. I also believe in false memories and question how much it’s impacted my recollection of these events.

I can definitely say that ‘some’ people have Medium abilities. Guessing most of them resist or ignore these abilities like my friend.

I holed out on back-to-back par 4s for eagle, playing by myself. First one from 148 yards landed 5 feet behind the hole and backed in; second one from 155 yards landed 10 feet short of the hole and rolled in.

Never told a soul because I would've had to admit I shot over par for the round anyway

after a pretty good opening weekend for dove season, i took my boys out with a .22 and shot frogs and rabbits at the tank.

i saw a dove flying low and slow and told my kids "never do this and never tell anybody i did this. it's wildly irresponsible." and shot it out of the air w/ a 22.

unfortunately they are bound to secrecy and when i've brought it up, they said "no you didn't dad." so i don't really tell anybody anymore, but it was the best shot of my life.

Since then (2019) many others have done that using my blueprint. I even wrote a chapter in a textbook about it and gotten published. Many have seen my blueprint and decided it was too complicated (it is) and went a different route.

No point in explaining this to my wife or friends. They wouldn’t understand. Ironically my wife is a gifted writer but I’m the one whose works were published first.

i created some pretty unique rules on firewalls for chromebooks that forced users to vpn back to their home network or they wouldn't get any internet and send all the traffic out the firewall (mainly URL filtering for School Districts to be CIPA compliant) that's used pretty nationwide today.

if i bring it up to people in my sphere (network security in K12) they'd be like "oh that's cool we use that method that the manufacturer told us about."

well i told the manufacturer.

it's completely lost on my wife and 99% of the populace.

I'll carry the same to my grave. In college, I had only played 18 a few times with friends and picked up a seven every hole. Wanted to get in some practice. First hole, par three in Opelika, ball dropped into cup. Walked off the green, got in my car and never picked up a club again.

After Nam I hit the jackpot and was stationed at Marine Barracks Pearl Harbor for the remainder of my Marine Corps days. At 0800 sharp the Marine Band would play our National Anthem while the Colors were raised.

The cue to start the music and flag hoisting was done by ringing a ship's bell eight times, starting with 2 sharp rings, a slight pause then 2 more similar until 8 bells had been sounded.

I'm a decent amateur guitarist, simple rhythmic bell ringing was easy for me. The band started at the end of 8 bells sounded.

In the picture below the bell is slightly back and to the right from the nearest perspective, the flag pole a bit to the right half way down Marine Barracks.

It's such a simple thing yet stays in my memory as something I'm very proud to have done, and volunteered for when on duty any particular day.

I'll usually tear up a bit when the National Anthem is played at sporting events, in person or at home. Not embarrassed about that at all and my wife and kids are long used to it.

There are things others might consider "epic" that I've done in life, but this is one I'm quietly proud of that very few know.

Semper Fi America.

Never played golf in my life. I was late teens and at my buddy’s house and he hadn’t made it home from work. Saw a golf club, no idea what kind. There was a bucket (I walked it off after the fact) about 60ft from me, very small bucket in the field. Put golf ball on the ground, hit ball in air and it landed right in the bucket. Initially thought I hit the side but went over and it was in there. I put it all back up and never said anything but even today, 30 years later I’m amazed

If you were given a hundred dollar bill but had to give it to one person in a months time, who would you give it to?

For the past couple of years, I always kept at least 2 or 3 hundred dollar bills tucked in my wallet at all times. Whenever I'm out, I am always on the lookout for someone, who if given a hundred dollars, would mean the world to them. Not the professional beggers on the street corners but someone who is obviously making an effort and for whatever reason is still struggling. Like a widowed elderly person on social security, or a cancer patient, or a single mom with kids, or young kid living probably living on beans and ramen noodles trying to get through school. These people are not always easy to spot because they aren't walking around intentionally seeking attention but given their situation, you almost can't help not noticing. I don't always get it right, but when my gut tells me I found one, I will casually and discreetly hand them a hundred dollar bill. To them, it is totally unexpected and catches them off guard and you immediately know if you got it right based on their reaction, which is what it is all about.

Nobody knows I do this, not even my wife.

frick.

This is awesome.

Got divorced at 35 and was pretty depressed but this smoking hot 19 year old I worked with kept hitting on me so I gave in. It was glorious but I haven’t really told anyone and haven’t seen her in nearly a decade. Definitely can’t tell the new wife

Had a home in the middle of a swampy area that had a pool. Yard was surrounded by a fence, but behind the fence was a pond on one side and a huge coolie on the other. Part of my yard was outside of the fence as well, so I had to keep it up.

One day my kids are swimming and I am on the other side of the fence. I see a beautiful, big copperhead coming out of the pond area headed right towards the fence. If it got under the fence, it wasn't going to be too far from where my kids were swimming.

I called out to the ex to bring me a shovel because I didn't want to take my eyes off of it. Of course, asking her for anything required a lengthy explanation, and I didn't have time for it after that as this thing was almost to the fence.

So, I did what any moron would do. I ran up behind it, picked it up, then snapped that MFer like a bullwhip up against a huge oak tree. I could feel it go limp in my hands. Killed it on the first strike. Threw it in the coolie and went on about my business.

I still feel like a stud to this day when I think about that.

I played guitar live onstage in the Super Dome. It doesn’t meet your requirements though because I’ve told everybody.

Was playing corner in high school and caught Charles Scott just right on a sweep to my side . He was making a cut on the outside linebacker and didn’t see me. I earholed him and the crowd made the gasping sound

Hooked up with a chick from Louisiana that was on the cover of an October edition of playboy. She’s from Louisiana . I’m sure someone could find it. She’s from Blanchard her initials are LE

Had encounters with Belinda Carlisle and Katerina Witt.
Haven't told a sole. No one would belive me anyway.

Pulled a passed out man from a car and saved his life. The police and a few people knew about it, but I've never told anyone in my circle.

Have manifestations of OCD that no one knows about.

Got jumped and beat-up bad by 3 guys nearly 50 years ago. Embarrassing. I vowed revenge, but only encounted one of them alone about 5 years later. Two of the 3 are now dead

This fits into the "no good deed goes unpunished" category. There was this single mom that worked at the company where I was, she didn't make a lot of money, I had heard that she broke down and cried at her desk one day out of despair. It was the first week of December, I knew she had 2 kids that weren't going to get much for Christmas, so I got a $1000 money order and sent it from her "Secret Santa". What could go wrong?

Unbeknownst to me, she had a BF, not just any BF, but a particularly idiotic BF with a violent streak. He stops into see her the day she got the money order, she's over the moon excited, he thinks she has a sugar daddy and he beats her up. I see her at work the next day and in spite of the sunglasses and makeup, it's obvious she had been beaten. I ask her what happened, she tells me the story about the mystery money and the BF, of course she won't call the police and have him arrested.

The next day she comes into my office, unusual because she not in my department, closes the door, she says she figured out where the money came from, she knew it had to be me. Before I could figure out what to say, she said she needs me to call be BF and explain that I'm just a nice guy and not her sugar daddy. So, I went from feeling great about being kind, to feeling like I had caused her to get beaten up, to feeling like a sap in an uncomfortable situation who should have minded his own business.

Yes, I called the BF, I don't think he believed me anyway.
