I have had one salesman tell me of a lady that had just got a rather large inheritance.
She came in and looked at two Ford trucks. One was a good bit more expensive than the other. He had the sales managers do up deals/numbers for both of them. She test drove the cheaper one and decided she wanted it. The sales managers thought they were working with the more expensive truck and sent the numbers for it and she wound up buying the cheaper truck for the more expensive trucks price. It was first pencil too, so the numbers were high.

Hell naw baw!
About every 4 months I go into a dealership just to browse. If one of this assholes get too pushy I'll play their game. Even sit down and let them give me a price. Tell them it's too high and walk out. They then contact me daily for 2 weeks asking what it'll take. I make my demands just to see if they match them. But....I never buy it. I feel like I'm Batman.

I paid for insurance for wheels and windshield. The way it was explained, and chip or wheel scuff was replaced easily. You know how it is in the office, they tell you what you are signing, but you don't have time to read it all thoroughly. Well when I did read, I saw how many exemptions there were....no cracks over 6" covered, wheel damage not covered in damned near any situation. Went back and got what I could taken off. Had to pay for some of the windshield due to a coating applied. I knew better, but bought the BS.....never again.

Actually we didn't get screwed. When you get the extended warranty and gap at the dealers real cost you win. If you are a smart buyer (we can't all be OT ballers and pay cash) I now have a new vehicle with the same coverage and a monthly note that is lower than my previous. Cash in my pocket giving us even more play money while in Hawaii in 3 weeks. Oh and I'm minus a car note. So yea I got screwed. One last thing the response will be only poor people get gap and extended warranty. Well I can promise one thing im not upside down by a long shot . I buy smart ! With all due respect never made a deal I didn't win on!

You financed a vehicle for 84 months at 6%? Did have dumbass written across your face? How terrible is your credit?
Let's do some math.
55,000 for 84 months at 8% makes your note $803.47/ month.
$803.47/month for 84 months means you are paying $67481.48 for your Dodge Ram.

Something tells me if you were focused on what your payment is, they screwed you on the interest and length of loan. That salesman was probably so good, he screwed you and you were asking for it.

They all play the game. You just need to be educated on the tactics to play back and not get ripped off.
The last car I bought, they were more focused on selling me what they wanted to sell than what I wanted to buy.
Walked out and called the dealer in N.O. From the parking lot and negotiated a better deal on the exact car that I wanted.

Was attempting to buy my wife's highlander from a place back home. We have a price lined up and the guy is going to meet me the next morning half way with the car and paperwork. I ask him to email me a copy of the exact paperwork that I will be signing before I drive down. He emails a blank copy of it. I call him back and tell him that I want to see the figures that we agreed upon. He was very damn hesitant but eventually did. When they were finally sent, the shitstick had added $2,000 in bullshite fees and options. I called him out on it and he gets pissed and turned into an 8 year old.

My Mom had a stroke in the 80's that left her disabled. She eventually could drive again but left her reasoning skills lacking. Well about 20 years ago she calls me and said she bought a used car from Price Leblanc and wants me to come take a look at it. Nice little car but when I ask how much she paid and what her note was it just didn't add up. I looked at the paperwork and they upsold /added everything possible to the sale. I went to the dealership and talked to the salesman. I told him that I had power of attorney ( which I didn't) and she wasn't supposed to buy anything without me present. He went got the manager. They took everything extra off and must have given me 20lbs of sausage.
