The stories of vegans and their farts are legendary. It's a given you're going to contribute mightily to greenhouse gases if you're loading up on plant foods.

Lol. True. The cruciferous vegetables are hard to digest no matter what. Do you have a vegan in your life who farts constantly?

Not in house, but when my sister was in high school and I in middle school she went full vegan for 6 months and it was horrific. I've never in my life heard such flatulence. It was post-colonoscopy farts, but all day and night, every day of the week.

Lmao. She would just let em rip with no shame?

My sister used to fart sometimes too after eating a bunch of salad with broccoli and other vegetables, but she would try to hide it at least. She believed in trying to be “ladylike” as much as possible.

I’m low carb and have lost 20 lbs in 3 months. I eat meat, Greek yogurt, eggs, green leafy vegetables in abundance. I eat some cheese, keto flour tortillas in moderation. Still drink whiskey and vodka regularly too.

I feel good on it and plan on sticking to it in some form even when the weight I’m targeting is achieved. Cutting out sugar, bread, desserts, processed food just makes sense.

I am currently doing Slow Carb, 4 hour body, diet which cuts out dairy, sugar and white carbs with a cheat day each week.

I was around 285 and the doctor put me on a blood pressure med that fricked me up in and out. I gained 50 pounds and coughed so much I cramped every time I moved. So I got off of it in March and went from 335 to 315 in two weeks. I sat there for a few months and couldn’t get in any type of rhythm.

I started looking around in May and listened to a podcast with the 4 hour body author and read the book. Started in June and have lost 70 pounds since. Feel great and am getting some swagger back. I have another 20 pounds to go for my end goal weight of 225. Beyond that I will have to find a way of maintaining without shedding a bunch more.

If it makes you feel better there are chefs using glass containers with identical results, and there are even some retail options available, though I can't recommend one.

Interesting.. may need to look into that..

Sounds like me.. only have 2 kids left at home . But they keep us busy. oldest play tournament golf and youngest in in competitive dance.. So I completely understand the lack of time..

That's why on my second attempt I went in with a plan instead of seat of my pants approach..

I stumbled on the carnivore diet early last year by researching elbow pain.

I do Olympic lifting and really messed up my left elbow.

Every time I searched for joint pain or anything I keep seeing it in the search results.

Saying it helped with inflammation and stuff, so I tried it. It really helped out a lot.

Did it for 90 days this year. Stats:

Dropped from 217lbs to 201 lbs
Inflammation dropped to virtually zero
Energy was up.
Blood pressure stayed the same.
Bad Cholesterol rose slightly good cholesterol stayed the same.
Workouts were more high energy
Sex drive higher.

I started adding fruit and veggies and inflammation immediately returned. I am going to jump back on after the holidays.
While I was on the diet I was also taking whey protein, creatine, glutamine, vitamins d and c, and tongkat Ali.

Doctors are against it because they want to keep you on prescribed statins for the rest of your life. The medical community has just become an arm of big pharma and the processed food industry.

Not pure carnivore, but I bought a smoker and smoke pulled pork & brisket and eat a Lot of meat, along with veggies, seafood, fruit (mostly berries), and have lost 40 lbs in the last several months, most of it in the first 3, and now am working out, strength training and cardio for the first time in 10 years or so and feel fricking great - at 56.

Lots of great info in these three books:

Wheat Belly / Super Gut / Unholy Trinity - Carbs, Sugars, & Oils make us sick & addicted.

Also Casey Means’

I eat 0 wheat products, and low carbs.

All you carnivores should try a tri-tip roast in the smoker. It’s fantastic.

Wife and I did keto for a while and it definitely works but damn is it hard to stick to. Bc it’s not just cutting out bread and ice cream and obvious things like that. It’s also cutting out rice and apples and corn and mashed potatoes and all the delicious shite that makes life worth living. Can’t even eat carrots or peas.

It can definitely get boring/repetitive- chicken and veggies, steak and veggies, fish and veggies.

I’m thinking of giving this a try but I don’t agree that it would get boring. There are so many variations you can do with each meat option. Off top of my head for chicken I can do chicken Shwarma, jerk chicken, baked chicken, bbq chicken, chicken fajita, chicken with mojo sauce, chicken tinga.

My problem is I love rice, bean, and potatoes. I can cut the breads/tortillas but cutting rice beans and taters will be tough.

Yep. Close to two years now.

I had gout attacks for years and they were just getting worse. I'd heard about the carnivore diet for a year or two before and was curious about it, but never had the will to try it. Then, in Dec '22, I had the worst gout attack of my life and couldn't get out of bed for 4 days. I decided then and there to hop on it, even though everyone thinks red meat helps cause gout attacks.

The gout attacks got less severe over the months following, less frequent, then it was gone for about a year...until Sept of this year when I decided to drink alcohol at my nephew's wedding.

Anyway, the health benefits along the way have been awesome. Down 40lbs from my peak, I don't run out of energy, don't get sleepy after I eat (I only eat once or twice a day and always in a 4 hour window. Not because I'm on a set schedule, but that's just when I get the urge to eat). Stress levels have gone way down, blood pressure is perfect....and there are a few other things that have improved but the ones I mentioned are the biggest improvements.

I cannot recommend it to people enough.
