PE aside, it is hard to find employees. Most are borderline unemployable

I'm almost certain part of the application process at Waffle House is bare knuckle boxing the newest cook behind their dumpster.

Waffle House must not yet be owned by PE.
I mean, all of the equity is privately owned.

Food was hot and quick.
And made of garbage. Calling it "food" is being very charitable. They don't even use butter. In fact, they use SOY:

quote:

Waffle House uses a soy-based margarine for grilling and topping, commonly containing liquid soybean oil, water, salt, hydrogenated soybean oil, soy lecithin, vegetable mono- and diglycerides, potassium sorbate, citric acid, natural/artificial flavor, beta carotene, and Vitamin A palmitate. It is a dairy-free soy-based spread

Good luck with that shite in every cell of your body.

We actually NEED private equity to come in and rescue us from this frankenfood nightmare.

The one closest to me in Houston is entirely staffed by elderly Hispanic women. It's ran pretty well, the ladies that clean the table can't speak English though.

This thread made me crave waffles (and not the kind that are on the thighs of the women the thick crowd here like).

I don’t get the appeal of Waffle House. IHOP is better.

I wake up before everyone else in my family so I went to Waffle House Christmas morning so I could leave a good tip to the people working on Christmas Day. I wasn’t expecting it to be 9 employees. The manager was giving one of the employees a hard time because he had to bail her out of jail the night before.

Two different things. One offers a very simple menu done fast and well, the other a larger menu and in my experience is very hit or miss.
