What’s his end goal after completing all these side quests?

Spend the money he makes on shite he doesn't need. What else would a teenager do?

The no tip thing was probably frowned upon, though.

When you select shipping, there is no tip option at all. It's just free shipping. You select "buy now" and it shows the address and total. That's it.

I tried it, it's convenient getting things delivered and not having to go to the store. The problem was they screwed my order up so much. Every other order had something missing or I would get things I didn't order (that someone else was probably missing). They brought me the wrong person's order one time. They don't always take care of it online, sometimes you have to call and talk to someone in India who you can't understand and who can't understand you.

Even the "shipped" items that come from the store like that had the same problems. If I order something that way I make sure it will all fit in one package so there's less chance of messing it up. If they did better I would use it. It's well worth it to give the driver a $10 tip to keep from having to go to the store.

Prime mastered that decades ago.

True- but Prime doesn't deliver same day like Walmart Plus does. Prime doesn't even do next-day on much of anything anymore.
With Walmart, I've ordered stuff around 8am, and it came before 11am.

It's a gamechanger if you get the flu or a stomach bug, and you don't want to get in the car and drive somewhere.

I did the free 30 day trial to get pepto bismol, immodium, gatorade and chicken soup delivered one day when we were sick as dogs.
I then got some tires ordered and had them mounted, with free roadhazard and rotation. Kept it for the Paramount Plus (cancelled my other account), the 10 cents off gas, and the option to keep same-day delivery on things I may need. We have 3 cars, and between gas and Paramount I think I'm breaking even with not having it.

Every so often, I just order something to keep taking advantage of it.

I'd never trust the employees at my local Walmart to give me quality meat and produce.

I'm seeing a lot of misinformation in this thread. I am semi-retired and deliver for Spark for Walmart. Gets me out of the house and some exercise and quick money. So many factors determine the experience you'll have if you choose to have groceries and goods delivered from Walmart.

Firstly, there's 3 different styles of delivery options offered.
1. Those people you see shopping (in your way) shop for more than one person at a time. More like 5 or 6 if I remember correctly. They then take it to a staging area. Cold stuff placed in coolers etc. We arrive and check in after accepting an "offer". How far we will deliver (usually to 3 clients at a time.) and how much they'll pay for the "3 batch" and the total of the tips. (we don't know who tipped, only a total)
2. The "shipping" is a batch of many small deliveries. Maybe one item per address. And it's over about a 30 mile route. And probably 30 addresses or more.
3. Express. Walmart pays me to go in and shop exclusively for you. I can communicate with you, you can see when I get there. What I'm scanning. If a product is unavailable so you can choose a substitute. I scan each item as the app navigates me (think isle A3, section 5, item number 32.) I finish, go to self check out and scan a code on the monitor, bag the stuff and the app navigates me to you to deliver. It offers the client I think a 1 hour window for delivery for express and you pay a little for for that option. All of this said, when I shop for you shop as though I were shopping for myself. I check cold goods expiration dates, I hand pick the very best produce and bag every thing how I would like it. When I deliver I place every thing at your door. 40 packs of water first. Don't smash the eggs and bread, common sense shite.
BUT you never know who is delivering to you. Just like anywhere there are deadbeats, don't give a damn attitudes etc. everywhere. All in all it's a pretty well run business when you consider the sheer volume of what they deliver in a day, all day long, in every corner of the U.S. Long winded but an honest attempt to offer some insight in how it works.

I don’t spend nearly as much with Walmart delivery. I usually get non-perishable food, cases of water, detergent etc. Can’t really order meat etc because they’re terrible about cross contamination. I probably actually go into Walmart once a year, and it’s usually with a grandchild.

The service has improved incrementally over time. When it 1st started we had bunches of problems but always came out ahead (like missing ordered items but receive someone else stuff worth more than what was missed). Lately they get the order right but the person goes next door still every so often. Plus they now deliver non-refrigerated meds from the pharmacy (have to pick up my insulin at the store).

Shipped is where they still have problems. Didn't receive an order at all that was reported as delivered and had to call about it (had local delivery order at same time which is what got refunded from that, again coming out ahead by like $40 which I consider an aggravation penalty assessment). Another arrived damaged so I have to go the store for a return and do a reorder.(spinoff thread:1st world problem, store is 1.2 miles away and am medically retired so I can be there early for no lines)

Have not encountered India call center the few times I have called. Pretty sure it's been the same young black man on 3 of my calls. Always an easy refund, just the aggravation of delay/re-ordering.

Being chronically ill to the point of near weekly ER via amberlamps visits the delivery service has been very impactful in meeting ever changing needs quickly when I'm not physically able to get out.

My sister is 62 and retired. She does Walmart delivery ( Spark) She usually works 4 or 5 hours a day and makes $100-$200 daily. It really helps her financially

This.

Walmart as we knew it is through. Most of them aren't even 24 hours anymore and close the garden center at 7. The original super Walmart in Bentonville in the 90/2000s was the pinnacle.

I’m a huge fan of the least amount of hands touching anything I purchase.

That’s why I have my groceries delivered by Kroger. They have a central site separate from the grocery stores for deliveries. No customers handling the food before it’s picked by each delivery man. The quality of fruits, veggies and meats is better than the stores, too.
