re: Has the Kobe tragedy made it hard for you to entertain small crap?

You must not have much going for you in life if the death of a sports figure that you didn’t even know affects you like that.

Not that I knew Kobe personally, but was a big fan of his. Seems like ever since I heard the news, nothing seems that important. Debating medial sports stories, controversies, etc...bitching about other drivers on the road, trying to focus on a TV show, trolling or being trolled on TD....
Just been in sort of a mute state of mind and not really sure if that’s a good thing or if it will pass. Normally I’d be all excited or fired up one way or another over the Pelini hire, but it’s just sort of there. No real opinion.
Just seems so hard to believe life can be cut short in an instant regardless of who you are.
Is this a troll? Because it kind of reads like a troll.

If we can just learn one thing from this tragedy it’s don’t fly in the fog in a helicopter.

I'm kinda more worried about the increasing number of deaths from the Coronavirus and how fast it is mutating and spreading........ seems to be more concerning than a sports figures death that could have been avoided......

Yes. I am much more interested in hearing Oprah’s statement about Kobe’s death instead of small things around me like life.

Dude’s a rapist not a role model.

Kobe cheated on his wife with that hotel maid and possibly assaulted her. Never forget
A lot of the personal screw ups pro athletes, Hollywood types, and politicians make would destroy the life of an everyday American.

Why would one death bother you?

Both are hobbies. Both retarded to get genuinely sad about

Kobe risked the life of his precious, talented 13 year old daughter because he hated traffic. And decided to fly in ill-advised weather conditions
Other than sadness for those kids that died, I am unaffected by another humans poor choices

Kobe wasn't the pilot and it was clear at Orange County airport when they took off.
If anything, it was pilot error not Kobe error.
quote:
Deetz said he often flew Bryant to games at Staples Center, and never remembered the Lakers star or his assistants pressing him to fly in bad weather.
“There was never any pressure Kobe put on any pilot to get somewhere — never, never,” Deetz said.

No
but then I don't take my cues on how to feel from pop culture
I don't know the dude. I am no more moved by what happened to him than I am by other tragic stories about people I don't know, like for example those girls dying in the car wreck in Alabama over Christmas. They are forgotten by the world but their parents have to live with it forever. People will be wailing about Kobe for years.

Exactly. And it's not like they are gonna miss out on seeing him play. He was retired.

How do you think all the parents feel that lost a child last night to cancer violence or a car accident?
Now repeat that every damn day morn for people who don’t have resources or fans.

Personally, I don't put that much emphasis on people that are total strangers to me, even the ones who are in the limelight like many movie stars, sportspeople, other movers and shakers.
The only time death has any effect on me is when it's a close family member or good friend, other than that, it's all part of life going full circle.

No. I focus on my family and mind my own business.

Kobe seems like a good enough man, but all of the coverage compared to police officers slain and members of the military -- that's what gets me thinking.

The melodrama posts on social media and everywhere else following Kobe's death are nauseating. Nobody understood how important their loved ones were or how mortal we all are until Kobe Bryant's fricking helicopter crashed.
