No. It won't. Keep it all shut down.

I rely on the various economic release numbers for my analysis. I’m a bit pissed we won’t have those on a regular rotation for the time being. It was one of the few truly good things the government does.

No.
It's just political posturing and the two sides have traded scripts.

Well teal season ended last week but because wildlife and fishery isn't patrolling I'm gonna go try to get a few more this morning.

Essential and still getting paid.
Shutdowns have never impacted my life in the 16 years I’ve worked for fed gov.

We’re waiting on a bill to come out of committee federally to address some Medicare Telehealth changes that occurred for behavioral health after October 1st and that’s obviously at a stand still. So that affects myself and those clients. Especially since it’s been difficult to get ahold of anyone to get clarification on change language.
I’ve also applied for a behavioral health grant that will allow me to provide some pro bono services for vets but those aren’t getting processed (but it’s also possible the grant will get dropped all together).

Travel - kinda
Boston ATC was only allowing a certain number of planes to land at Logan per hour (due to some reduced staffing levels) so my flight was delayed about 45 mins in leaving but we made up half the time in the air.

Is it? Because the initial releases are always wrong.

Nope. I am retired and I will still get my SS check.
I just applied for SS and Medicare and have been approved. Glad I got that out of the way before the shutdown. I imagine it would have taken longer if I had waited until now to begin the process.

Not in the least. I hope it stays shut down forever.

No, once again I am not currently being paid. FFS

Great smoky mountain has definitely closed a bunch of areas that makes it pretty inconvenient.
Obviously as a society I understand it, since we can't expect people to pick up after themselves without any trash service...
Sadly

Everyone that is essential and nonessential gets back pay when the shutdown ends. They should have saved money knowing that this is always a possibility working for the government.

To be fair, bills don't wait on backpay so I can empathize with someone that isn't getting paid during a government shutdown.
That said, there's been enough of them and if you're in that kind of job that it'd be wise to put back what you can to prepare for that.

When I switched from private to federal, a longtime Navy veteran at my private place of employment told me two things:
1) Get your clearance as high as possible
2) Get as close to the warfighter as possible
Those two things have always kept me safe during all the shenanigans. Currently, still working on 2 year funding but will more than likely have to keep working once that runs out.
