No. I’m dead inside and secretly wish for the death of everyone I “love.”

Yes, the death of my dad at 61 from a massive heart attack, I was 31. He was my best friend....I was devastated. My wife then cheats on me and divorced me, taking half of everything that I paid for.

Not really a success story...and I don’t trust a GD female any farther than I can throw one.

I definitely am not the same since my dad died unexpectedly in 2013. I’m very withdrawn and very passive. I basically care about nothing and just go through the motions to get by. It totally sucks.

I’m sorry to hear that. If you enjoy traveling, fly into Vegas rent a Jeep and map a trip to Zion national park, Bryce Canyon np and the north rim of the Grand Canyon. It will rejuvenate your soul.

I lost my best friend 15 years ago. I changed drastically after that overall.

After my mom died of cancer I death spiraled. She raised me and I guess I wasn't well equipped to accept the finality of it. Ruined my marriage from trying to drink my thoughts away and just not caring about anyone else's feelings. It's been a rough couple of years. I've made some improvements and then regressed a few times.

Yes. Drastically. For the worse, and hopefully ultimately for the better. It’s a terrible experience and I wouldn’t wish it on anybody.

It sucks. You don’t ever heal. It’s like having a bandaid on a wound for life. You learn to live with it but you never heal. And if that person is extremely close you lose a piece of yourself that can’t be fixed.

Lost an unborn child, not sure if that counts. But not a day goes by that I dont think what might have been. And I hope And believe I will meet my child in the hereafter.

cant say it changed me because my life hadn't changed yet

Its a very life changing moment for most people. Not just the memories, but you realize there's no "catcher in the rye" for you anymore and that you're the patriarch. All the older men people turned to, and now that's become you

I should have but I don't.

My girlfriend of over 2 years in college broke up with me and shattered my heart. Soon after, my Uncle/idol died unexpectedly. That should have ruined me but think the pain of my break up shielded me from that instead of piling on top of it. Don't understand it.

This is the most accurate description that I’ve heard. I definitely identify with this.

Very true. I've lost many, but 3 still make me sad everytime I think of them. Dad, included. It's tough. I just try to stay as strong as I can for my Mom to help give her comfort. I take her pain, and mine, and just be there
