We're going to be witness to a 10yr/100M experiment with this very thing. Let's see how it goes, and how long it takes.

I hope it works out. Before anyone says anything, these people have already thrust themselves into the public eye.

My pastor is a licensed marriage and family therapist. Most of his clients stay married and say that their relationship is stronger after counseling.

With my X. I already knew and was on the way out. Went twice and all it did was expose all her BS. She thought it was me or both of us. After that 2nd time she didn't want to hear the truth anymore

Also wasn't married thank God.

Not quite true, Johnnie Walker offers sage advice as well.

This makes sense. One of the hardest parts of marriage counseling is not the actual couples counseling. It's getting people to actually go on their own accord. And being patient enough, while in counseling, to not view everything as an attack and developing the ability to listen to understand, and not listen to reply.

Question to any women on this thread. In your opinion do most women struggle with apologizing when they are wrong?

I have to assume that genuine belief of the need for obedience to God to save their marriage certainly helps

Coworker went. Convinced couple to have sex 3 set days of the week. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays. Seems to have worked for them for about 3 or 4 years now. I asked them for their counselors name lol.

Gottmans have been doing it for far longer than 10 years and their research is pretty interesting on the subject.

It really depends on the couple and the quality of the counselor, there are a lot of bad therapists out there.

It’s works for counselors! The trouble is by the time 90% of people start it’s too late

This is true. It's also when you realize it's probably over.

Whatever drives a couple to go to counseling, it's at that moment when the counselor let's you know she/he isn't going to change, you need to either accept, or plan a way out.

When from a pastor? Sure.
When from a person making money off of you? No.

It didn’t work for us. Two different counselors both asked to see my ex separately to discuss her anger issues.

But the counselors worked for her. She was able to put money away and plan her exit strategy without feeling like I’d serve her papers first.
