Seriously, how many of you baws are actually asking for the good Lord to bless your food and "all the people" before every meal.

Apart from holiday dinners, do you really participate? Do you consider yourself a true Christian if you don't?

Asking for me

Amazing how people here have to gage popular opinion before making simple decisions

I don't even participate in those.

Nope.

I do have a coworker that always wants to say grace when we have an office lunch. It doesn't bother me, I just let her do her thing and then eat.

Our lives are too hectic to pray out loud every meal. However, whenever we sit together as a family, whether at home or restaurant, we pray.

Holiday meals at the in-laws are the only time I experience "grace."

And this is usually me....

Worse. He checks the OT opinion, full of miscreants, deviants, atheists, and edgy, sarcastic posters.

It is one of those relaxing meditative things that I like. It is nice to let your loved ones know you care about them and have your kids see you be respectful. It also gets all the kids quiet and just sets a good tone. I think it is also one of those southern things that we do that helps us get a reputation for being really nice to others.

I don't know what I believe anymore but I believe a lot of things are good to do like this.

No. Unfortunately, “Christians” have become an outdated concept.
There aren’t as many people these days who claim Christianity as there was just 20-25 years ago.

Therefore, fewer people have to pretend now days...
The only people (largely) who continue to pray are those who are genuine Christians...and there ain’t many.

Not as far as I’m concerned. I say it before every meal and have taught my children to do the same.

Anyone else' family look for the most religious person at family gatherings to say the prayer?

Same here. Easiest way for children to begin learning to pray in front of others. Now, they have no problem praying with others. But, our family believes and are all professed Christians. I thank God every day for His blessings on my family and friends.

Hmmm, maybe that's a blessing for something else.

I’ll give my creator a silent acknowledgement of thanks, but I don’t like to making a show of it. I get a tad uncomfortable when I see folks make a big show of it in a restaurant or something. I think a big production is appropriate for Thanksgiving and large family gatherings, though.
