Honestly it is a national tragedy what these idiots have done to New Orleans. I went downtown today and it looked like a ghost town minus the homeless roaming the streets looking for someone to rob. An enormous number of Restaurants/Retail/Bars are all boarded and now permanently out of business. The warehouse district at noon reminds me of Folsom at 4 AM. No one around, no vehicular traffic, no tourists, just desolate, dirty, and dangerous.
No police presence at all. The downtown office buildings have to be operating at 20% occupancy at best. Either there has been a massive exodus of the affluent out of the city over the last year or their homes are now second homes because the LGD, GD, and Uptown are mere shells of themselves too from a foot traffic standpoint.
So glad I was able to get rid of my house last year that I pray to god every day thanking him for letting me and my family get out of Orleans and into a safer environment.

I try to stay out of New Orleans politics because I don’t cross that lake very often but she’s something else. New Orleans citizens elected a carpetbagger once, and I’d bet they do it again.
