If you are thinking of staying because the sex is great, consider this:

One day (probably soon) the sex will all but end and all you will have is fading memories of rocking the bed while your unquenched desire makes you bitter and angry with no recourse.

No amount of mind blowing sex now is worth the pain that will bring later. Play the long game.

Jesus Christ politics is not life. She's getting back at her conservative dad. Marry her and never look back.

I dont understand how you can even consider marrying or even having a serious relationship with someone that thinks redistribution and socialism is smart. It shows she is either low IQ and ignorant or she is smart but a narcissist and thinks she knows better than everyone else. Either way, huge red flag.

A long time ago, I dated a girl like the latter, super smart but a narcissist and was convinced her ideas were the best ideas and could never be reasoned with. Even when faced with hard evidence of the failures of marxism and collectivism and the deaths and suffering they cause, she would ignore, deflect, gaslight, and insist her way was the right way. A lot of liberal women are awful narcissists that cannot be reasoned with.

In the end her true colors came through. She ended up being one of the most awful people I've ever met. Mean, hurtful, cruel. Zero empathy for others. I think most liberals want to be liberals because its an act to look virtuous to cover how ugly they really are inside. She was a case study in this.

Either her views and world understanding are shallow or ignorant or she is a narcissist and deep down lacks empathy for others. RUN.

We are both middle of the road but I lean right and she leans left. We really don’t discuss politics. Just had our 10 year wedding anniversary.

It shouldn't be a deal breaker, imo. She's going through a phase (hopefully) and it doesn't sound like you're some hardcore politico. I'd wait to propose until you see if she balances out when she's back in FL. You shouldn't throw away an 8 year relationship over some stupid political disagreements. Just agree not to talk politics...it's not that difficult. A guy I golf with is hardcore conservative and has a very liberal wife...they've been married for decades and are happy. They just don't talk politics.

The only caveat I'd toss in is you should probably have a serious talk if you're uber-religious and she's not (or has lost her religion).

I'll update the OT.

I did not end the relationship. I did talk to her, she followed those socialist pages because of a single Roe v. Wade protest that she went to. She's actually in PA school, which is a Physician Assistant/Associate and her school group attended the rally/protest as a group I suppose due to the medical nature of the law. At the event, those people asked her to share their information on her social media, she's a people-pleasing young woman who has a hard time saying no to anyone, so I don't think she's lying.

She is seemingly pro-choice, but not late stage. Which I'll have to accept. I'm not sure if I can overlook it, but I don't think she would ever abort our own child.

She doesn't seem to hate conservatives, like I said her father is Cuban and very rather conservative himself. She's always had a great relationship with him.

Talking to her, she really doesn't seem to understand what socialism is. I strongly believe that once she comes back to Florida, and into our established community and group of friends, she'll go back to being apolitical. She's not an activist. I plan to pick her brain on other subjects like hormones for children & such but I want to do it in person and not over the phone.

I know I'll get downvoted, but I wanted to be honest.

I appreciate the advice from the gentleman of the OT and I'll be on the lookout for any red flags when she moves back, knowing that I may have to cut my losses.

The bottom line. Until you know her true heart, no children.

But the best indicators are her female friends and her religion. What they say and do will greatly influence her, and her religious beliefs and practices are her bedrock morality.
