I just drove down to Harlingen and I can tell you there are a shitload of windmills on the coast side of the highway that run for damn near 30-40 miles

I was driving late at night and could not figure out what all the blinking red lights were. I had convinced myself it was some elaborate border system to keep small boats from dropping off illegals. LOL

I grew up on Southside of Corpus. I live closer to the water now. It’s a lot better than what some people on this board have said. There are bars downtown and on Southside. Southside is definitely closer to Kingsville and you shouldn’t have much traffic going out that way.

Minor league baseball, junior league hockey if that’s your thing. Plenty of fishing, water sports, etc.

There are 3 bars that are about a 5 dollar uber ride from my house. And I'm about as far south as you can get (south of Yorktown)

Downtown area has definitely improved since I moved there. I've considered relocating further north since I usually work on the other side of the Bay while I'm there

Yeah, downtown is coming back to life. Some houses around the area between Louisiana Pkwy and Doddridge could be cashed in on with a bit of work I’m sure.

But for this guy working in Kingsville, living on the Southside cuts down his trip a bit.

If you are working in riockport , Portland has a number of places to stay much closer than Corpus. Which is about halfway between the two.

My dad is in the industrial construction sector and told me Corpus is about to be the fastest growing city in the country when they start building this refinery.

I haven't gotten all the info on the job yet. Just know that it's a wind farm being built or added on to in Bishop Texas which close to Kingsville. I said Kingsville because it's the closest town people will probably recognize.

I think it's supposed to have a peak construction force of about 11k people. I could see that being a pretty big boom to the area. But the plant is in the Portland/Gregory area a little north of Corpus. The new harbor bridge is going up as well. A lot of big things going on in the area.

Corpus Christi Beach, especially the Nat'l Seashore, is nice.

I'm looking to rent a month to month 1 bedroom apartment or 2 bedroom if that's all that's available. I'm only going to be there 3 months, but really don't want to stay in a hotel that long and pay out the arse for it.

Staybridge Suites in Corpus isn’t bad at all. Not sure what kind of a long term rate you could get. Has a happy hour thing at night with some decent food 3 night per week. Media room downstairs with living room furniture and a big tv and also a small basketball court outside. Couple of gyms within a couple of miles if working out is important to you.

Lots of fun to be had.

My brother and I lived down there for a while while we were on the rigs. It was fun back then, got into a lot of trouble. Wife (his) eventually left him and he relocated to Houston to get away from it.
