Has anyone here truly broken someone's heart before?

I think it's almost worse than having your heart broken. Causing a girl/guy in pain but knowing you did the right thing - shite sucks.

In my teenage years, but hormones and shite for girls might not make it legit

I did. Knew she wasn’t right for me; always picking fights about petty shite too. So her mom asked if I would smoke some turkeys for their family on Thanksgiving. So the next week I smoked two turkeys for the family, then smoked her daughter one last time. That next morning we argued over what I cannot even remember.

My truck left the drive way and never looked back.

I’m sure everyone feels like they’ve done this.

I destroyed my ex-H for a while when I ended it, but I think it eventually helped him get himself together. I genuinely hope. I abhor hurting people, so it sucked terribly.

I’m only on my 2nd long term relationship, so I haven’t been through any other real break ups.

Many times. I hope they are not holding a grudge but I imagine a couple of them are. If they want to hold on to their misery than that is on them. It is not hurting me one bit.

I used to be a pretty bad alcoholic and it ruined a 5 year relationship.

My ex wife. I gotta admit it still haunts the hell out of me.

I was on the other side, and it’s definitely worse.

been on both sides. Didn't like either. My high school girl... I was about to graduate and she still had a year left, this hot chick started acting interested and I kicked a pretty good relationship to the curb. The fling with the other chick lasted about 3 weeks before I realized she was a nut case. Pretty sure the one I broke up with would still punch me in the face 25 years later.

I destroyed my GF Jr. Year of HS.
But she was annoying af. Stayed at my house till 11pm every fricking night, then would wake me up at 630 with McDonalds every am before school.

As a cardiothoracic surgeon, I've never broken one, but I've dissected a few.

Reconnected with a girl I had gone to HS with, I knew she had been sweet on me but she had been in my friend zone. Cute enough, but a little weird, which had kept me from getting together with her. She was married but I knew she wasn't real happy.

We text, exchange emails, have lunch a couple of times when she comes into town. NBD. then late one night she calls me and said she's leaving her husband, she always loved me and wants to spend the rest of her life with me. I slammed on the brakes with the quickness and haven't heard from her since.

I also learned that when I went to LSU, she followed me there for a month before going somewhere else. I always thought she had gone to the other school to begin with. Apparently she had been stalking me while she was there.

I guess this is more of a fatal attraction deal than a heartbreak.
