I don’t know if I’m retarded or not, but are UFC fighters generally strong? Or just in great shape?

they're in great shape.. great fighting shape, which is different from running shape. The closest thing to it, is doing crossfit.

I've trained BJJ with guys who fight MMA. As a white belt, they made me feel silly for an hour without them breaking a sweat. Then watched them coach a striking class. I don't want any of that. Then knowing how out of my league they are as a trained fighter, they show up to the gym after a fight with stitches and bruises because there was another guy who could get the best of them. I'm not going to pretend I can ever hang with someone who takes it remotely seriously.

If you're really serious, go find a gym and give a few classes a try. It's a blast and a fantastic workout. You'll also learn what your capable of. Some of those small guys, they'll work you pretty good.

Oh, so not at the shitty "bar" that was near Mike's Place where they'd have fight night on Fridays for a chance to win your weight in a bar tab...then he'd put his trained fighters in to make sure he doesn't actually have to pay up

A friend of mine works with a dude who is a MMA fighter. 2 or 3 times a year he fights usually at casinos or local type events. I went with him several years ago, he had a fight at the race horse tracks in Opelousas when racing wasn't in season. Dude got the shite beat out of him. The guy I went with told me going into it that the guy had lost his last 3 fights. I asked how did that work. If he keeps losing will he stop getting fights.. And he told me he didn't think so, it was just a matter of being available when the casinos decide to have those events.

Now that’s the kind of information I’m after. A fight in a shitty Opelousas casino is just what the doctor ordered

I mean, I’m not going to enter anything drunk. Maybe afterwards to celebrate my win. Probably shotgun a couple of beers and pull a couple of slam pigs

You need a manager. Promoters won't talk to athletes.
