A great flood is an integral part of many religions and cultures throughout the World. Most scholars are just about certain a cataclysmic flooding event happened to early mankind.

I love how “scientists” will claim that there was no great flood while unironically discussing how much lower sea levels were during the Ice Age. I mean, obviously, there was at least one pretty big flood when those sea levels rose.

There's been many great floods, most likely.

Exactly. Every culture has a myth of a great flood. Every coastline in the world was inundated by melting ice caps. Maybe, just maybe, those two things are related, and that religious myths are grounded in the memory of some sort of real-life event. It’s possible that the entirety of the Persian Gulf formed in a matter of days, not years. A flood of that proportion would certainly seem cataclysmic and world-ending to the people living there.

Do you have a link? The flood supposedly happen around 2300 BC. There were people living on every continent at that time. So everybody on earth died except for however many men and these 4 women. Those 4 women repopulated the entire earth. They did this so fast that when the vikings came to North America around 1000 AD there were already natives here, there were already aborigines in Australia, still to this day uncontacted tribes in South America and Papua New Guinea.

Believing in a deity is silly. Believing in a literal Noah’s Ark story with a flood that covered the entire planet is frickin’ retarded.

“Jesus taught the Books of Moses as fact,”

You sure about that? Where does it say that?

Are you agreeing or disagreeing with me? Im posing that as question. As in there’s zero fricking way 4 women from 2300BC repopulated the earth.

A substantial portion of the bible was coopted from the epic of Gilgamesh.

-Born of a Virgin? Yep
-Great flood to survive? You bet
-Dying and resurrecting 3 days later? Check

There's more but these are the high points. His story predates Big JC by only several thousand years FWIW.

I could believe it. This definitely would explain the rapid decline of American society that started not long after that time

Would not be at all surprised if this guy is the one pulling all the strings in the background
