Has anyone got the coronavirus and survived?

This board and the media make it sound fatal. At this point bodies should be piling up or people are coming out the other side healed.
There are over a billion people in China living in very tight quarters. If it was a true pandemic, it would be much worse.
Common Cold > Corona Virus
There have been 60ish deaths in China so far for Corona, 14 people have died from the flu this year in DFW alone.

4% fatility rate
Mostly extreme elderly and extremely young (hence why Honkus is panicking).

I have it right now, first 2 nights were rough but my fever broke and I just finished my 2 mile morning run. Looks like I’m going to make it. World is full of pussys.

When a communist media controlled country states that there were 31 official dead due to a nuclear disaster at Chernobyl, the world remains skeptical of official numbers published by communist China

I got it in late 1986 and early 1987. Took a courageous intervention from good friends to bring me back around to domestic beers with no limes.

Fake News, it is down to 3% now
Lower rate than flu.

Nobody knows at this point if it is slightly or much worse than the flu. It’s the early stages. Early indications point to potential mortality rate 10 times that of the common flu.
No need to panic, but it’s foolish to claim this is a nothingburger at this point.

Do you even know what the fatality rate of the flu is? It for damn sure isn’t 4%. The US would be losing millions to the flu annually at that fatality rate.

Seems like you and all the poster think this is not a big deal and maybe so. But I've read that these types of outbreaks can turn into pandemics and millions of people can perish. Just the state of medical care in the US versus the billion plus people in China probably bodes poorly for that country. I just think we refuse to believe that there will ever be another pandemic that kills millions. I need to reread the book Spillover by David Quamen which is about animal infections that jump into the human population. It's called zoonosis. And in this book he seems to think it will happen. I stated in a different thread this book was recommended by a very fine and now deceased retired veterinarian who keenly understood implications of spillover from the animal to human population. These things happen and the world is not ready for it.

You obviously haven’t read my posts if you think I am minimizing this.

I don't keep up with all your posts. Nothing personal intended but in general the posters (most all I've read} on this subject think it is hyperbole. And I don't know. On the Fox News site there is a report of a simulation of not a Coronavirus but of a vaccination resistant virus that works to a death toll of 65 million over time. Hence my earlier comment about the book I'm reading. The author takes it seriously as it was the exact point of the book. He spent a lot of pages writing about the emergence of these diseases from the animal population to humans in China. There are a lot of people there to feed and they cage and eat everything.
Actually I responded to you because I had to respond to someone. Again, nothing personal. I can't say that I'm concerned currently but I can see cause for future concern.

I survived the coronavirus but now have lime disease.

Don't they use the mortality rate for those hospitalized?
because you actually have no idea how many people have most illnesses because they never get diagnosed.

The Wuhan virus is a novel corona virus in the human population. We won’t know it’s mortality rate until it has been in the population for some time.
It is obviously causing panic in China and that in itself is reason for the rest of the world to be on guard. China is a closed society that does not allow freedom of the press. We just can’t take their government statements about the potency of the virus as truths. We’ll have to see how it spreads and kills in a free society such as our own.
