Has anyone else been getting spam calls about their SSN being suspended?

These bastards (probably Russians) were calling me every hour of every day before I blocked the number. Leaving me automated voice mails that my Social Security Number would be suspended for “suspicious activity.” “I had to call them immediately to prevent it from being suspended.” etc.

Does this mean I’m legally dead and can go start a new life somewhere?

A while back I decided I’d waste their time.

So they called and told me cops would come, they’d take everything... etc.

I decided I’d talk to them in a old man voice so they’d assume maximum vulnerability.

They said I had to pay, but in target gift cards.

I told them that I didn’t have target gift cards, but I did have a bunch of build a bear gift cards and asked him if that would work. He got very mad at that.

I gave them my name, DOB and social so they could fix everything. They were very appreciative.

The same people call me about my SS# and vehicle warranties.

Apparently I can buy warranties on vehicles that I sold years ago. Cool, huh?

Did you get their mailing address to send them a Thank You card for freeing you from the burden of the IRS?

I don't know about legally dead, but I always think back to George Carlin when he talked about being legally drunk. "Hey officer, leave me alone, I am legally fricking drunk."

No. But I did get one earlier today from Amazon saying that my Prime membership was about to expire and I needed to pay $39.99 as soon as possible to avoid losing it.

The last time they tried I said sure I would give them my SSN, in an elderly voice.

It went like this:
Him:Number?
Me:Sure
Him:Ready?
Me:Yes are you ready?
Him:yes, I am ready are you ready?
Me:yes, I am ready
Him:ok go ahead
Me:ok give me a moment...

At that point he started cursing me out and said "I am going to come to America and frick you in the arse". When I asked how long he was out of the closet he said "frick you" and just hung up.

He hasnt called back since.

The SSN will only call you if you’ve made some sort of claim. Other than that, they will never call you.

I’ve been getting them from New York. They leave voicemails too.

There is an interesting app out called "Stop Calling Me". I think it is just on Android right now, though. It is basically a crowd sourced call center flooding app. It has verified scam call center numbers that users can block their numbers and call on repeat for as long as they want.
I haven't tried it because I've been kind leery of my number ending up on their lists. It is an interesting idea though, as it accomplishes the same thing as repeat calling sotware/numbers but is cheaper to run.
One of the scam channels on YouTube, PleasantGreen, mentioned it.

I got a few, more lately.

I ask them "where did you get this number" in a very serious voice.

With a short brake I ask again and inform it is on a do not call list.

They hang up.

I like to frick with the car warranty callers. I punch “one” and put my phone next to Fox News or Moscona interviewing Mike Detllier. Once I told them I had a 1938 Packard with 638,000 miles on it.

I kind of feel sorry for people who can only get jobs making other people annoyed.
