I just really hope no cruise ship line who isn't registered in the United States (none are as far as I know) got a single cent of Tax Payer money

The towns that rely on the cruise industry.
It's a mess.
It's a mess.

I do too, because it's taxpayer money and I hate to see it spent on anything.
The government owes the people it put out of work. Cut programs, cut expense, pay the people affected.

I have been on two sailings. Ship flagged in Liberia. Foreign captain and staff. Some of the musicians were American.

AMC will probably end up filing bankruptcy
This has been a news topic for most of 2020. AMC is owned by some Asian billionaire, and I don’t recall him fighting to keep them open.

I would like to book a cruise for the wife and I for September but I've been reluctant to pull the trigger. Still kinda waiting for this whole thing to finish playing out.

Cruises are trashy.
Perhaps you should raise your standards above the Gulf of Mexico. Cruise to the Greek isles or Alaskan cruise and tell me they are trashy.

The good news is that the average OT Baller should now be able to buy their own slightly used cruise ship for about what they would spend on a weekend getaway. Win/win.

The tobacco industry has had a rough 20 years or so

In perhaps the weirdest 2020 twist yet, the OT starts knighting for the cruise industry.

In January, the shares were trading around $50, supported by 2019 revenue of $20.8 billion, earnings of $3 billion, and $10 billion debt. Today, the company has revenues of roughly $6 billion, an estimated loss of around $7 billion, and $20 Billion in debt. Revenues likely won’t return to pre pandemic levels for 8-9 years. I think your money may be put to better use elsewhere.

My brother is a magician. His show circuit vanished in thin air thanks to JBE.

I worked on a cruise ship for four months, I ended up getting the the Noro virus twice.
I quit as soon as my contract was done,
Other than getting sick, it was a pretty good deal. Good food, stewardesses after their shifts unlimited bar tab,
But yes, the diseases spread because of the ventilation systems (you could see the Noro virus spread through the passenger cabins along the ventilation duct routes). Also old people tend to really use the railings and spread the diseases that way.

Its a sweet job for young people. Get a job as a shore ex type, and you not only make money, you get to do some absolutely amazing things.

Are there a lot of Greek isle and Alaskan cruises leaving out of Nola?

Cruise ships are cess pools in the best of times.
