If you live in the area, just go early in the day on a saturday and put your name on the walk-in waitlist. Got there saturday around 3pm and got a chute for 8pm.

I'll tell you what's wrong, the people who call their golf clubs "sticks".

Is it the kind of place you can kill 5 hours? I know they have food and drinks but is it kind of like a Dave & Busters? Or just the chutes. I wouldn't mind waiting an hour or two but 5 is a bit much. I guess if I go I'll book a spot online.

Sounds like the one in BR isnt like others, but you can easily kill an hour chilling at the bar. BRs sounds more like a bowling alley than a dave and busters.

The original dallas one has batting cages, mini golf, cornhole area. So definitely has some kill the time area. So more like a bowling alley/putt-putt golf

Nothing is wrong with bringing your clubs if your plan is to be competitive with a couple of friends. If you are going with a group and the main goal is to socialize then just use theirs.

Nothing. The clubs there suck and have shitty grips.

I'm not even that good, but I prefer to hit my own clubs.

It’s about the same level of douche as bringing your own pool stick into a dive bar with shitty tables. Not super douchey, but definitely says something about you.

I mean if we want to get right down to it, going to top golf at night as a night out is pretty trashy.

The one in Houston by Nasa and 45 has a game room with pool tables and arcade games. Filled to the brim with preteens most days though

Damn I passed by that one mid-day last Thursday and the parking lot was only half full. I should have stopped and checked it out

Why? I hate playing with someone else's clubs when I'm on the course. Why is this any different?

It isn't. This is just another OT "this is trashy/weird because I don't do it" thing.

Went Monday at 3pm with a reservation. Had to get on the bottom level because the top 2 were filled

I used theirs. No reason to bring your own clubs when the balls are fake

it's taking it way too serious, I laugh at the people in head to toe golf attire bringing in their full bag. It's not a driving range to work on your game, it's a fun social setting that happens to involve hitting golf balls. I mean unless the courses you play involve hitting from 2 stories up into a massive light up target area idk how much real life help you're getting anyway.

So is bringing your own bowling ball the same?

I've been to multiple topgolf locations several times and have never seen this. A lot of people just normally wear golf polos and khakis if you mean that.

You honestly don't see a difference in playing a real life, actual golf course while keeping score and actually concentrating on shooting as best you can, and playing what is essentially a real-life arcade game from an upper deck shooting at light up targets less than 100 yards away?

I don't think it's trashy, I just think it's attention seeking. It screams out "hey everyone, I'm a REAL golfer. I'm so good at golf I can't be bothered to use these plebeian pieces of filth and must bring in my own titleists so I can beat everyone I play in TopShot. I will be sure to log into my account when I get home to track my progress"

Why can't it be both? Have you never played a course with large changes in elevation?
