You honestly don't see a difference in playing a real life, actual golf course while keeping score and actually concentrating on shooting as best you can, and playing what is essentially a real-life arcade game from an upper deck shooting at light up targets less than 100 yards away?

Aim shot, hit shot, see where it goes. Wow that's nothing at all like real golf.

I don't think it's trashy, I just think it's attention seeking. It screams out "hey everyone, I'm a REAL golfer. I'm so good at golf I can't be bothered to use these plebeian pieces of filth and must bring in my own titleists so I can beat everyone I play in TopShot. I will be sure to log into my account when I get home to track my progress

This just sounds like some extreme projection.

If you can't get an online reservation just show up and put your name on the list. They take your cell number and text you when a bay is almost ready. I'm personally not going on the weekend without a reservation.

So is bringing your own bowling ball the same?

No, because you're bowling a real actual game for score. I don't deride people that bring their own pool cues, or bring their own basketball to the gym either.

TopGolf is not real golf though.

You've got way too much invested in this topic

I've been to multiple topgolf locations several times and have never seen this. A lot of people just normally wear golf polos and khakis if you mean that.

No that's not what I meant. I mean people in golf pants (the lighter material kind that the pros wear), golf polo tucked in, and a golf visor.

But you're hitting a golf ball with a golf club. It's not Wii golf.

Yeah I've never seen that.

If you go in the morning on a weekday, it's older guys practicing golf and drinking coffee, but even they are dressed normal.

Well then you're contradicting yourself.

And the local bowling alley or pool hall down the street isn't a "real" professional tournament either.

Reminds me of when I was a kid and the local Putt Putt would run weeknight tournaments, and dudes would show up with their Ping putters. It's Putt Putt for fricks sake.

Both of you are right imo.

A pro golfer or someone with aspirations of being a non amateur golfer should never set foot in a top golf.

That's the angle I look at his argument from

Actually this doesn't sound too bad.

Putt Putt putters freaking suck but I'll use them with the family. A tournament I'd probably bring my own

Lots of southern dudes wear that shite daily as business casual wear. They’ll always be saying things like “I’m never going back to cotton shirts” and “I’ve thought about gay sex recently”.

As a practice facility, sure.

But you can still have fun with friends and drink/eat and still want to use your own clubs. It doesn't make you some douche who wants everyone to know how good you are.

Speaking of gay sex, what about the homo concentrating on what other guys are wearing?
