LaSalle

Edit: it really hasn't change much at all since I was a kid. Same mom and pop restaurants in Olla and Jena, I guess the old regular Walmart did get turned into a "Super Walmart" and there are a few more traffic lights but nothing major.

I think I’ve been to every Parish except Washington. I know I’ve never been to Bogalusa or Franklinton.

The parts of LP closest to BR are just middle class suburbia now for the most part. You can still get deep off the beaten path and into Deliverance country if you want to though. It's a big parish.

This is true. I've always lived outside of city limits in Denham. I like being close to everything I need, but not close enough for people to drop in unexpectedly.

There's something satisfying about delivery drivers calling me like, "Uhhhh...are you SURE I'm in the right place?" Most of my driveway looks like a service road for power lines but sure enough I'm back here. The only downside is internet speeds for gaming.

This particular deer stand I was referencing is like less than 5 minutes from Bass Pro lol, but I'd imagine you won't be able to hunt that area in another decade.

Across 4-H Club?

Well they are on a lease I'm pretty sure near the 4-h club somewhere. But this particular stand is in the woods behind their house. My great uncles (like 3 of my grandfathers brothers) all live on a giant portion of land that they all grew up on and they built some small stands many years back and I occasionally would go hunt it just to get out of BR for a little while. I've hunted the lease they are on by the 4-H club (if thats the spot I am thinking off) too and its not far from bass pro either.

Just trying to think of property that size 5 minutes from Bass Pro and 4-H was the first thing that popped into my mind. I'm sure there are several that I'm forgetting though.

Oh I'm sure there is a lot. The property they all live on isn't crazy big but there are slowly neighborhoods and houses being built on the adjacent land, but they have 2 or 3 stands out there in the back woods and some flooded timber that I've gotten lucky a few times and jumped squealers out of.

My Dad is from Greenville; Mama is from Laurel and I've lived in Denham Springs all my life.

I'm not sure what that makes me to be honest.
