Seems a little extreme to terminate someone over it (especially considering he's 16)... but from the customer's perspective, it's suuuuper creepy that her customer information was misused especially if her address is in the system.

These were my thoughts too.
Businesses have a rep to maintain. If I'm a business owner, frick if I'm going to let some 16-year-old part-time worker get my business lambasted on social media (or worse) because he couldn't keep it in his pants.
That's why we call it "being professional."
Either way, being 16 and trying to pull moves on an attractive college girl (outside of a drinking-type environment) is a

Sometimes people aren't fired specifically for what they did but more for their decision making. If he thought that was a good idea, what other liabilities does he present to the company? Or, he was a shitty employee and that gave them a good reason to get rid of him.

How was said chick aware enough to realize "Ugh this likely non discriminant face was the kid I have seen one time in my life at the tire store I've been to once".
If I'm interacting with a person for the first time ever, I could get a friend request from them immediately and look at it while I'm talking to them and I'd still be like "who the frick is this?"
That being said, kids are weird. It's a lot less awkward to talk to someone in person versus trying to figure out a way to connect to them on social media.

One of my wife's best friends was not very intuitive, and liked to vent about work on FB.
Trouble was, she was a special education teacher, and her venting revolved exclusively around bashing either the shitty parenting skills of her students' parents or the lack of support from the school administration.
You can guess how that ended.

Also, he's 16. He probably has his place of employment on his page and has zero security settings so everything's visible.

I know a few people who have been fired from their jobs for Facebook posts/content...
My girlfriend recently got fired from her job for this shite. It was a dumbass decision and in poor taste, but I didn’t think she should have been fired for it. People get away with much worse all the time

Yea he made a mistake and likely didn't think anything of it, but the owner has to protect his business. Hopefully he learns from it, and is explained exactly why you cannot do that in the business world.

Yeh, I'm aware of that. But if you stopped and asked me the name of the tire check out guy as I leave the store, he could have had it tattooed across his forehead and I wouldn't have remembered.
My brain has limited enough capacity as it is. Ain't dragging it down with names of people I'll never again interact with.
