Has any American been able to rehab their image as much as Kobe Bryant?

From the depths during his rape allegations to having people pay $30,000 to see him lace up one last time. From losing all of his sponsors to coming back as the most popular athlete in his sport. His media/public relations/marketing team are geniuses. And that's just here in the US. He's even bigger in China. Amazing.

Yeah, But not as big as Kobe. He's the 5th highest earning athlete. Mike Tyson is largely a side show.

Most people today have a pretty short term memory. I think there was the initial uproar and then people moved on as they always do. All he had to do was keep his nose clean and be great at basketball which he did.
I think in most of these cases people assume the woman is probably just trying to get a pay day, which the victim did.
