I've fricked women in the woods behind the Shakedown Street of Phish shows and miraculously never caught anything. I get tested twice a year and have come up clean so far. I almost believe that I have some lucky genetic inheritance that prevents anything nasty.

I disagree.
My ex GF had never had sex without a condom before me.
She got on the pill and asked if we could try once without a condom. After that she asked if we could not use condoms anymore, because it felt a lot better without one.
I still pulled out every time though.
