So now we're just undermining the NHC forecast too?
Who thehell are you to say "mid Cat 2 more than likely" when the NHC explicitly forecast a Category 3 storm?

Well shite. I was really hoping that the early predictions were fear-mongering. Buckle in boys and girls.

I may just hop a flight to Denver tonight. Worse places to be stuck for a few days.

the true weather geeks can correct me if I'm wrong... but I think this storm would qualify under the meteorological definition of "rapid intensification"
Yeah, pressure has dropped 19 mb in about 7 hours. That's borderline RI.
Wilma dropped 53 mb in 5.5 hours in 2005 - 954mb to 901mb - which was the faster on record IIRC.

Anybody know how intensity affects the path, if at all? Could a stronger storm push its way further inland instead of hanging around and stalling? Probably wishful thinking, I know.

So it basically isn't moving from Sunday 7am thru Tuesday 7am? Jesus.

It's really hard to wrap your mind around that.
