Cajun Navy info on Zello and drive texas map indicates a section of Hwy 90 near Nome is flooded but passable in large trucks. Cannot confirm. Only confirmed route is north and then east on 190.

Yeah, for sure. It's I-49 I'm worried about

There is some relatively significant rainfall that is possible across central LA as Harvey picks up speed and begins to move more northeasterly over the next few hours. The speed should help, but rainfall totals of 5-6" over the next 12-18 hours aren't out of the question.

Sounds like Port Aurthur got hammered. Info was saying water levels last night were rising 4-5' per hour.

Yeah it did. Have a few work friends in Port Arthur (and one of my offices). No word on the office, but so far my coworkers have all been flooded and either had to be rescued or evacuated on their own days ago.

Talking to one and she luckily carried flood insurance. Said that's the only thing stopping her from having a breakdown.

Looks like it's traveling more North between 6 am an 10 am than forecasted.

Eta: Looks like the 10 am map updated.

Hmmm does that mean Beaumont area will get hammered even more as he leaves the area?

Houston is having a council meeting talking about response. Kind of strange to have it right now.

Anyone have info on water levels in Briarforest/Memorial area near Buffalo Bayou? Have some extended family that are still there, supposedly no water in the house but they are moving everything to the 2nd floor this morning just in case. Curious if the water is still rising or if it's leveled off any.

I'm not sure how Beaumont could get more hammered at this point

Is this open now? Is this the best way to get back and forth from BR/Laf to Houston?

Not necessarily. Beaumont just needs it to move quicker, but they're almost in the clear with rainfall in the city. The watershed is a different story, but that water will mostly end up in the Sabine as Harvey moves out.

The gauge on Buffalo Bayou @ Beltway 8 is going in and out, but upstream at Dairy Ashford it is starting to level off. Still increasing slightly, and the highest it has been since the event started, but leveling off.

Does it mean more for Lake Charles? Also, I know it has been said before but thank you for all your awesome work in this thread.

New tornado watch for south MS, parts of LA. For brief tornadoes in the spiral bands of Harvey.
