Rds dc and other TD weather experts, what's the likelihood my 1250 Friday flight from Houston will be cancelled? It doesn't look like the storm will have arrived yet, but it'll be close. Trying to see if I need to move my flight to get out of here.

Pretty sure CuseTiger has a thread on the travel board discussing flight arrangements. He's pretty good at that kind of thing, may want to check there too.

So according to these models, Harvey lands around Corpus Christi. Grabs a few cases and couple handles, has a terrific bender and falls apart somewhere in Louisiana.

Should've done this earlier today, like this morning.

Shut up a-hole. This morning it was still just a thunderstorm. A lot has changed in the past 10 hours.

Looking at the models, it appears Harvey is a crackhead.

Really is a huge shift in the 18z GFS compared to the 6z. If this trend continues, could be good news for Houston, at least in the shorter term (until it loops around). As it is now, the GFS shows a significant rainfall gradient between southern metro area and northern.

Two things:
1. The GFS has been abysmal this year. If the Euro begins agreeing then I will say OK.
2. Even if this goes much further south and west, it still comes back out into the Gulf and Houston is still very much in line for flooding.

18z HWRF forecasting a decently strong system. 110 mph max winds.

NHC cutting back on the rain totals through 7 days, which is good news, albeit surprising.
There are a few NWS products that have varying rainfall totals, but this is still a move in the right direction.

Yeah for now there's a huge discrepancy between the two. The Euro starts backtracking it to the Gulf on Sunday, while the GFS sends it on a tour through Mexico. On Wednesday the GFS has it near the mouth of the Rio Grande, and the Euro has a 980mb storm over Lake Charles. Really curious to see what the next Euro run does.
