It looks to have slowed according to latest advisory and seems to sit for a little longer at landfall. Corpus going to take a beating.

Yea I'm in the same boat as you. Gonna get the boat ready and some beer and wait it out.

Gotta get my sons kayaks from the farm and bring them here .. that was our way out of our neighborhood last time ... to the rice truck that we parked at our neighbors so we could get through town! Was really no laughing matter but you gotta get through it somehow.

The Euro has typically been the "best" but the reality is most of the time the true path is some mix of the GFS and Euro. Those are the big two global models and typically you can watch those along with the NHC paths and have a pretty damn good idea where things are heading.

This is a good map to look at as well, especially if you don't know where you live drains to

I live in town so it's obviously dependent on the bayous (Buffalo)

The dams should slow down some of the flow down Buffalo Bayou, but you could have backup if water reverse flows in the Houston Ship Channel. Good news is that it's much wider the closer you get to Galveston Bay. You might get some pretty impressive fill-ups of the Bayou in town, though.

I'm just trying to reconcile what I'm reading here with *potential* for 33-50 inches of rain and the advisory like the one posted with the *potential* for 15-20

The model maps show absolute worst case scenerio, whereas the NHS is more nuanced and reasoned. If the NHC put out 35 inch rain total this far out, the panic would be insane.

I think this is going to be more and more a Louisiana problem as Harvey intensifies.

Sure, but I would say SE LA is going to be greatly impacted as well.

You won't. They don't typically show up on the speghetti Plots. Those are just a bunch of other models that show a possible spread of results.

Remember, it's all a probably game until the low is on top of you.
