Baton Rouge has probably gotten 2-3 inches in the last hour. That can't be accurate.

What's the outlook for the Baton Rouge area in regards to flooding this week? My parents are having PTSD.
This is the WPC's excessive rainfall outlook. Basically trying to quantify the risk of flash flooding over the next 24 hours:

due to location of harvey, LA is getting all the outer banding bringing heavy rains.

I can confirm it's been raining here in BR all morning, and has really been coming down hard the last hour or so.

You can't expect those maps to be accurate to the zip code. BR is on the edge of 6-10". It is entirely possible they could get that kind of amount over the next few days.

It's acting as a boundary on the west side. As the storm pulls east, it will as well, focusing the big band farther east. At some point, it'll run into the high pressure boundary over the east coast. Wherever it stalls has the flash flooding risk for today.
Realize for BR and the Northshore it will take a day or two of training to really be an issue. Our flooding depends largely on the coverage over the river basins.
So don't panic or anything Jim. Keep an eye out, pay attention to warnings and updates, and we'll know more details as it developes. Also, for the record, my house took three feet last August and I just moved back in. I'm not close to being worried...yet.

6-10 inches over the next few days will suck for this area.....

Think he's saying that seems low considering they've already got 2“

om good sources the rain amounts could be a lot higher than what is currently anticipated from laff to BR areas.
What sauces?

Finally made it back into Dickinson and my house. I'm so so so so fortunate everyone and everything of mine is safe. The town is a sad sad site though. About to change clothes for the first time in 3 days and go see where I can help
