There really isn't a "best" channel anymore.
Weather Channel, as mentioned, is just a commercial crap of people who are too geeky to get a true new jounralist job, and a not smart enough to get a job with the NWS.
Other channels is a mixed bag of:
CNN: decent, yet sporadic, coverage mixed in with Wolf Blitzer questioning if Trump will do anythign about this and why the Republican controlled Congress hasn't prepared the people more.
FoxNews: Also sproradic coverage with Shepard Smith overdramatizizing everything, with no doubt a follow up story on Benghazi coming up soon
MSNBC: who knows or cares?
