with a eye wall replacement to the NE can that potentially move the track NE as well?

I know, I know about wobbles...

But, looking at Bay's image, it looks like a possible kick to the WNW at the end, which seems to be seen on the Hunter's flights...

BayTiger, forgive me for my ignorance, but looking at this image...what's all the white stuff? Rain, clouds, wind? Obviously it's the storm, but trying to figure out what's what.

im gonna go with the coach leach strategy. the weather man seems a little to confident in himself for my taste. expect good weather.

115 mph velocities on radar. If anything due to distance, this is a good idea of how far out the strongest winds go.

There's a few problems with using velocities that far out... first it's kind of outside the operational velocities that the radar is calibrated for. Secondly, and most notably, due to the curvature of the earth these are not surface velocities so they obviously can't be used to determine the surface intensity.

Not really. The entire NW part of Harris county is well enough inland that no one's life is in danger from wind unless it's Cat 5 and for sure not from storm surge. The only threat to them is driving around in it and drowning. People in Katy, Cypress, Tomball, Woodlands, etc. are fine as long as they stay at home and don't go driving around in the flood.

They need to stay their asses put and let people from Galveston county and barrier islands get out.

More people died in a bus fire trapped on the highway in traffic during Rita than from anything else.

Rummy, I think a WNW jog would make sense.

The deeper convection on the south wrapping around kind of lurches the storm for a bit.

clouds. it's basically a picture of the clouds from the geostationary satellite.

The spreads between areas not far from each other on here is insane. 56 inches in Victoria and 3 inches in what looks like Columbus?
