I've been glued to this thread for a while now. Basically 48 hours
I can see it only getting worse until Sat night or so when either it becomes a sure thing or a better outcome comes into reality
If any of my post about concerns for my local area seem insensitive I'll apologize. Know we have a bunch here from Tx and I truly hope for nothing bad to affect any of us. Is it too late to hope it never makes landfall anywhere in the US and a High pushes it south in the gulf to Mexico?

A quicker turn back to the gulf is better for Houston, right?
Not trying to root for anything bad to happen to anyone here, just trying to figure out what this all means.
Not really, because it isn't getting too far into the GOM, and Houston is still to the northeast of the storm the entire 5 days.
The total rainfall projections for Houston don't really change much in this run, so far.

For someone who hasn't been keeping up, can I get a quick update on what predictions look like?

Almost looks like it tries to make a move back toward texas there. Landfall twice in TX?

So we may have a chance to watch Game of Thrones, Sunday night, in New Orleans?
I'm sorry to make light of this situation. I hope my attempt at humor made someone smile that's in a worse situation than myself right now.

A second TX landfall, 18" to 20"+ or rain for the Houston area

Yeah, the GFS is showing two Texan landfalls.

essentially same spot or way on another part of the TX coast?

Looks like corpus cristi gets it from both directions. And not in the good way.

Looks like it makes landfall then returns to the gulf in the exact same spot where it made landfall. Then he travels north a little ways and hits again. The GFS slack posted doesn't show the second landfall.

Looks like Port Lavaca gets it worse than anywhere else in that model

Moving north now, eastern portions of DFW might get some action...
