Whats that about a few hundred yards of beach?
Yes. This was the Rita inundation map. Places as far east as Terrebonne parish got 7ft surge.

What's the update on the NOLA pump situation?

Lily lost steam as she made landfall. Thank God. Still had plenty of bite.
I was in Ville Platte and the eye passed over us ... at that point the men in the neighborhood were clearing the streets ... I mean it was almost squirrel season opening day! Ugh.

Not what I'd like to see...bad that they're starting to agree more with Euro.

East side of Katrina slammed into LA, MS, AL and FL.
Actually the East side of Katrina missed La except for Plaqeumines Parish...a few miles to the West and we're talking about an entire different level of destruction for Louisiana.

They're still not working and Mitch refused an offer of rental pumps.

very miniscule and expected when being a near direct hit by a major Cat 4 system. The Katrina devastation was caused by the breaches and fixing breaches which took weeks and weeks.
I know Chad, I live here too, but the wind damage was substantial. All those flooded NO houses also had blue tarps. Metry got wacked very hard by wind, as did Kenner.

even worse time IMO
When would be better? I could probably make it Saturday but I also hate to leave my recently widowed mother to deal with this alone in case something happens.

I agree Butch.... without those levees breaching Katrina would not be as talked about as it is.... still a bad storm but the total damage would have been far less....
Posted on 8/24/17 at 2:13 pm to slackster
Awe shite ... I don't like that at all.
