You don't know jack shite. Judges in South Carolina aren't elected by the way, they're selected by the state legislature, specifically to keep mouth breathing idiots like you from having any say in the legal process save for sitting on a jury.

And first, it was a judge who set the defendant's bond. If you have a problem with the defendant getting bail, campaign against the judge who set it. Second, money for the public defender's office is already written into a budget, so it's not as if the state has to pay someone more money to represent the defendant. This is precisely what public defenders are for. "You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you."

If you read the article it says the defendant was able to help pay part of his $80,000 bail but yet he could not afford an attorney

SO he paid part of 8,000. Could have been with collateral, like a car title, house, something of value. It's not like he shelled out 10 or 20K

Well, seeing enough of them pass in front of him every day, pulling the same shite will tend to do that, dumbass.

When you get arrested you go into a pre trial area at some point. In that area you meet an official who asks you a shite ton of questions..income, financial responsibilities, etc etc

That all plays a part in the courts decision if you can afford an attorney, as does if you/anyone else posts bond for you

If you/anyone else can afford an attorney, you will do so.

You're arguing that the judge is wasting time by resetting?? Would it not be the same waste of time for a court appointed attorney? This guy probably spends all of 30 minutes everyday in the courtroom...would he rather be in jail? I bet not. frick him.

Thank you for clarifying.

Anytime:adverb
1. at any time; regardless of hour, date, etc.; whenever.
2. invariably; without doubt or exception; always:

I'm just fricking with you now because you know why? I'm not in front of that judge who just had been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Sucks for that guy.

But if you really want to knock yourself, go read up on Harris county bail system. I'll admit, it's a messed up system.

By defacto judges in South Carolina are voted by the people into office.

I bet if the general assembly voted a moron in, those voting in favor may not get re elected as a legislator.

Preconceived, or based on experience?

What do you say about minorities that think cops are the enemy?

I would say they have preconceive notions and those are absolutely wrong, especially for those who thinks cops in general are the enemy

I'm sure you do. And you probably claim their experiences equal.

Only on the OT do you get people actually arguing against the right to counsel.

Sounds like he could afford an attorney rather than bailing out.

A third-party assisted the defendant in bonding out. If a private citizen chooses to assist someone with bail, that money is not imputed to a defendant for purposes of determining indigency, nor should it be, as there is no legal obligation for the citizen to assist in bail in the first place.
